Default Upcoming Subaru Incentives for December 2013

Does anyone know what incentives they may be offering in December for the 2013 Legacy and Forester? I know the existing interest rate incentive ends on December 3rd.

No one has a heads-up on these yet? I figured that at least the Forester would get some kind of better / additional incentive other than just 1.9% financing for December with the official unveiling of the upcoming 2014 on November 28th. Not that it's not all over the Net already.

I can't remember ever hearing any car company ever letting out what a "next" incentive will be until the present one expires. The whole idea of having an ending date for an incentive is to lure customers in to take advantage of the deal before it's gone.

^ Correct, it would be foolish to kill an ongoing promotion.

I understand the company may not openly disclose the upcoming incentives but that does not mean sales people and others may not know about them a few days ahead of time and share it. I know they have been shared in the past so thought I would ask the community. If they don't want to post it they could always PM me. It would just help with a pending family purchase decision vs. vehicle availability that we're considering. Thanks in advance to anyone that might be able to share.

The next incentive, whatever it might be, might be a percent lower or higher or the same. If this "percent" effects your decision to be able to afford a car, then you probably can't afford the car in the first place.

Affordability has nothing to do with it. It's a matter of getting the best deal possible if it means waiting a few days vs. weighing the possibility that the vehicle we are interested in might be sold by then. In other words, if x rebate and/or better financing will be available is it worth it to me to wait and risk having to locate or find a similar vehicle or just buy now because it will be the same or not worth it to me to wait.

Since I have been working at a dealership, SOA hasn't typically done anything special on a previous model year until the new ones are one the ground. They have even waited a month after that. Subaru's models are selling very well. I seriously doubt we'll see anything special next month.

Thanks Justy. I buy through the VIP program anyway but always good to get some feedback about some potential additional savings, especially if they are only a few days away.

When I bought mine the other week they were discounting 4-doors $750 and offering 1.9% financing to well qualified buyers. Unfortunatley, I am not well qualified and I wanted the 5-door so I got nadda.

The Automotive News article at http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dl...#ixzz27MhGBmFZ describes one of the ways Subaru is clearing Forester inventory without resorting to incentives and reports that, as of Sept 1, Forester inventory was down to only 47 days.

The Forbes article at http://management.fortune.cnn.com/20...source=cnn_bin points out that only Porsche is offering fewer incentives than Subaru because demand for Subarus is so high relative to supply.

Also, I understand that the list of models now excluded from the VIP program has grown pretty long (check with your dealer).

I seriously doubt Subaru will offer better incentives next month. So, if your dealer currently has the car you want in stock, I recommend you pull the trigger now.

The APR incentives are usually very similar and usually competitive. I still think December is a good month being the last. Trying to get those numbers up to finish off strong.

Since SOA has already surpassed their previous record; and they should get to the 320,000 or come close, I don't think they will do anything special like December last year. Leave it up to the dealers to make the deals to help those numbers.

Well, things have a funny way of working out sometimes. First, let me say thanks to the positive feedback I received from all those that offered it.

Turns out that my wife and I were looking at an in stock 2013 Forester that matched like 95% of our wish list and was one of our 2 preferred colors, and as I was browsing through dealer inventory a little while ago, low and behold they showed some several new inventory as "In Transit". Of those vehicles, I found a 100% equipment and color match of EXACTLY what we are looking for. I couldn't have found a better match if I ordered it myself! (which I have done twice before) I immediately called my salesman, gave him the VIN and told him to put it on hold for me as I will be in ASAP to give them a deposit.

The vehicle is scheduled to be here the last week of December so looks like I'll be taking advantage of whatever incentive they are offering in December. Santa's sleigh is going to be mighty heavy this year!

Your grammar, punctuation and spelling are well above the average poster's and I suspect your written communication skills are important in your job. Instead of "low" in the highlighted phrase, you probably meant to use "lo" which means "look!" or "see!" and connotes an element of surprise. It's the type of mistake that spell-checkers probably won't catch. The phrase "lo and behold" probably was derived from the King James bible's description of the first Christmas according to Luke: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...12&version=KJV.

Merry Christmas!

^^^ Some people really don't care about grammar, spelling, phonetics, semantics, etc. Being an elementary school teacher, I actually do care, and I appreciate those who do as well.

Poor spelling and grammar drive me nuts too. There are times when I turn into one of those internet language morons though, especially when I'm just typing what I'm thinking.

While it is important for me to be clear in my day to day professional communications, I find that taking pride in what you write is important, regardless of where it is written. Even so, I sometimes do still make mistakes. You are correct about the use of "lo" vs. "low". My fingers were phonetically typing the most common spelling at that moment even though my brain knows the difference in meaning. Thanks for the compliments though.

Back on topic...I'm looking forward to seeing the new incentives for December that I'll be able to take advantage of on the 2013 Forester I have on the way!

I know it has been covered that SOA doesn't release upcoming incentives, but giving it a shot to see if anybody has heard about February 2013.
The car I want doesn't arrive into dealer stock until next month, and the current incentives end January 31st complete with the "must accept delivery from dealer stock by January 31st" condition.
