Default Clunking sounds on long lefts with STI struts on GC6 (attention GTGUY(

My friend just had STI Type RA struts with STI tarmac springs installed on his 2000 RS. He has the STI top hats. He is now getting a "clunking" sound on long left hand turns.

Furthermore when he had it aligned the shop claimed to only be able to get -0.5 degrees of front camber, which might be a related problem.

Well we answered our own question. When the struts went in, so did a 6 piece set of the sti lateral links. Turns out the installer screwed up and installed the sti end links incorrectly. Instead of putting the end link on the knuckle, then the lateral link, the order was reversed causing the end link to bind ont he lateral link.

So if you end up with clunking after a lateral link install, double check that your installer isn't a moron.
