May be your dealer has ordered too many cars already and currenty don't have allocation to confirm your order yet.

Weekly Monday update: Status still "Scheduled" now with scheduled date: 12/18/2013 and ETA: 1/02/2013. No Ship/Rail date yet.

PS: On another topic I asked my salesman to see if his service department is against the use of Cobb AP with stage 1 map and unfortunately they said that will void my warranty even if I'm just doing Stage 1 map with all stock parts. meh I guess car is running on everything stock at least until warranty runs out.

You got yours from kensington fitzgerald right?

BTW, since my ETA is 01/14 with a schedule date of 01/02, and on top of that live 1 hr away from the port, do you think I may get the car sooner than 01/14?

Even if they were for it, the dealer doesent handle warrantys, subaru sends some one out to approve or disaprove it, but like you i to am waiting till warrentys up to tune

My dealer told me that although the ETA was 12/31, she expected the car to be in by the 20th. So, my guess would be the week of the 2nd.

Russell Subaru in Ellicott City is where I ordered from. Russell is barely fifteen minutes from the port of Baltimore, so I think the reason it's taking so long is that it was released over the weekend and is probably in queue to get processed at the dist. center in Columbia.

I think you definitely won't have it before January. If your scheduled Date is 1/02 that means your car isn't even on US soil yet. My car has Scheduled date 12/18 and I still have nothing more than a 1/02/2013 ETA right now and the SOA reps said be cause of the holiday it might come a week late if it can't come early since I have too many accessories to be installed at port. Although you may get your car a bit earlier than 1/14 though. You'll never know until they update it with a ship/rail date.

I am aware Subaru is the one handle the warranty claims. They don't send someone out to check it up though. Your technicans will tell them what they have on the car (ecu remapping, aftermarket parts, etc...) and tell them wheter or not they think that might have affect the problem.

So I ordered my STI back on Oct 20th and they gave me a 10-week expected wait. The good news is that I have a VIN and ETA for 12/31, just like they told me.

Now there is a dealer (about 2 hours away) that HAS the exact car that I wanted, but would NOT trade with my dealer or even match the price. They said they can sell it for MSRP in their city so they don't EVER negotiate below MSRP.

That same car has been now sitting on his lot of 8 weeks now and he still has NOT sold it, and I am still waiting for my car, which is expected to arrive on 12/31.

So frustrating to know that a car, just like the one you ordered, is just a short drive away at another dealership (for over $3k more) and they won't budge.

So I wait....12/31 is not that far away....

That is frustrating but your car is almost here. You waited for almost 2 months what's couple weeks to you? lol. I don't know about our area but dealers here will sell $500-$700 below MSRP at best for cars on the lot. And they sell them FAST. I'm talking it'll disappear within a week.

I finally found a dealer willing to play ball on a fair price. Ordered a WRB base WRX for a bit under invoice + delivery from Prestige in Asheville NC. Great people to work with so far. I was given an estimate of 6-12 weeks.

Only $500 - $700....ouch - must be a sellers market. I ordered my car for $2500 LESS than MSRP. I guess it depends where you live and if you are willing to wait for a special order.

The other dealer (2+ hrs away) has the exact car I ordered but won't budge from MSRP, he told me (8 weeks ago) they sell these cars all day long at MSRP, that's why they don't negotiate. Now that car has been sitting on his lot for over 8 weeks, what happened to selling cars all day long at MSRP?

wow usually you have to discuss a price first before making the order. if you haven't done that I would contact your salesman and do that now. Good price is subjective and YMMV. But you should be going off dealer's invoice and not MSRP/sticker price. The closer to invoice or under invoice the better.
