While color does add a bit and they are pretty close, those are still renders based on rumor.

Something doesn't sit right with me. It almost feels like the Rockstar boys designed this for GTA:V with the random vents on the hood, rear quarter, and rear fender. C6 was a cleaner design.

Do not like. Not really a fan of the new Viper (because front end), but everything else on that car looks done way better than the C7 renderings shown so far.

I think they are doing renders as ZR-1 instead of base. Thus all the extra crap. I expect cleaner base and Z-06 models.

FD3s RX7, SW20 MR2 and a few others also canted towards the driver and were driver oriented interiors. Unfortunately car manufacturers think the passenger needs easy access to things the driver should only have access to.

Example, our Subarus. very non driver oriented dash layout. its as if saying to my wife "go ahead and change the radio, he won't mind" lol.

The serious question is the last line... what is the killer improvement that would make anyone want to wait for a C7 rather than buying a used C6 for a heck of a lot less money right now? Or make someone, with a nice C6 already, want to trade up?
They've already released info on the new engine. All new with direct injection should provide some benefits power benefits. I also have heard rumors that the rear differential will have an eLSD which may or may not be tied to driver mode controls to provide different response for street driving vs. track use. I believe launch control is also a new feature.

The radio has nothing to do with driving, so I have no problem with that. Make the driving experience driver-centric, the entertainment toys should be more accessible.

Back then they didn't have that many buttons on the steering wheel, so orienting the dash for the driver was useful.

Chevy just needs to fire their designers of the vette and cramaros. Both look line knockoff cars with aspects of other manucatures new and old. Their cars seem to be getting poorer quality and higher prices to keep up with other manufactures.

The c5 and c6 have some other the crappiest fit and finish to their plastics. Baisicly your buying a pretty decent engine with a plastic turd sitting on it. Dont even get me going on the pos cramaro.

So Im thinking this isnt going to be any better, wow what a great 1990 hood vent going on their too. At least the c6ZR1 had a 1999 ricer plexiglass manifold window.

It's more like car manufacturers are building cars for a world market and the same cars are being made in both LHD and RHD configurations.. and the extra cost to build completely different consoles, dashes, head unit brackets and HVAC ducts for two configurations is harsh on profit margins.

not to mention steering wheel mounted controls + voice activation = no need for driver centric dashes.

Go check out a C4 before you rag on the C5 or C6.

We get it, you don't like Corvettes. (Or Camaros, or spelling for that matter) Perhaps this thread isn't for you...

The Corvette and Camaro are pretty well built and have fantastic performance. What cars are you comparing them to? what vehicle comes close to their performance?

I would not knock the camaros or corvettes performance, I would knock their ergos and refinement. The camaro is a fat coffin. The C6, well, I have a hard time bashing the C6, much in the same way I have a hard time bashing the STI. They are both great performance cars whose interiors let them down.

But if their interiors were less inferior, they would be priced into a higher market. For a sports car, I'm ok with cheap plastics in the name of LSDs/twin scroll turbos/insert performance part here.

I think you overestimate how much plastic costs. Corvettes top end models have crested 100k dollars. The days of the affordable every mans car is gone. People who buy Vettes should not be treated to some of the same materials that are found in the Cruze.

There is no car that beats the Corvette's performance. Chevy puts the best performance they can manage and price it at the best value. People who are interested in the Corvette do not care about the interior.

People who buy the GT3 RS don't care about the cloth door handles.

You guys make it sound like it is hard to make a nice interior. All they have to do is charge more money, but then it would put it's cost close to the Europeans --then their would be a questions asked why would anyone spend that much on a Chevy.

Ever tried shifting gears while the wife is changing the station?

Sure, but it would cost more. There are 100k cars with very nice interiors, but they don't perform nearly as well as the Corvette. Pick your focus. It's a sports car, so they choose speed and handling rather than alcantara Bluetooth steering wheel buttons.
