Talking PDX Tuning Dyno Day at JapTrix: Sign up NOW!

UPDATE: 12/6 5:45PM

Hey Guys,
Giving you a nice early heads up this time.

We are going to have a dyno day with Jarrad from PDXTuning and Nathan from TXS to come and tune cars on Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of January.

Tuning will cost $125 per hour, split of the travel expenses, and then the dyno cost which will be worked out with JapTrix.

Dyno Fees from JapTrix will be $150 per person regardless of time on the dyno.

The Pre-Inspection Fee will be $90, for an hour of time spent between inspection and getting a baseline run on the dyno. This will have to be scheduled before the Dyno Day, so please call JapTrix to setup an appointment. This is not mandatory, but VERY strongly suggested. Please see this post (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...0&postcount=28) for more details and reasons why you want to get inspected. The guys who just attended the dyno day at JapTrix do not have to get inspected. People who choose not to get inspected, and roll on the dyno with problems will not be tuned and will lose their deposit paid to PDX Tuning.

We need to get a minimum of 7 slots filled to have both days available. If we can't fill 7 slots we will just do Sunday.

It's official so if you haven't already posted, do it now!

Please include the following:

1) The day you would prefer
2) Fill out this form completely: http://www.pdxtuning.com/tuningreq.htm (include location as JapTrix)

And the best part about this dyno day... It'll should be nice and chilly!

Forrest from PDX will be posting updates in this thread.

Hi Nick, I called Roger A. at Japtrix, he'll be in touch with you.

Yes, this will be 1 week before I go overseas for a month. I think I'll be down for the Saturday tune, will have to order and install all my parts.
Will confirm hopefully soon, either way I'll be there for at least one if not both days to hang out and support the local group.

Chris

I would like to get in on the Saturday session. Can someone give me an idea of how much money each person had to put up to cover travel expenses the last time this was done. Just want to get an idea how much this will set me back after the holidays wipe me out. Is one hour usually enough for just tuning the cobb stg2 map on pump gas with no extra maps being made?? Any info is appreciated. Im planning on siging up as long as the costs arent too much.

Most likely NSU law school will be sucking me dry by then too. Nick, you know anyone on the admissions board??

if you don't want extra maps it'll be 1 hr worth of tuning.

Japtrix was very reasonable too as far as dyno time goes.

i don't want to give you an exact dollar amount for two reasons, 1.) i don't remember 2.) it might change.

Travel expenses last time were split between 10 people and it was about 40-50 per person.

An hour should be enough as long as the car is ready to go.

NSU... nope... I worked at the business school.. the law school was like a totally different universe with rules all their own... good luck.

Yes thanks... I updated the dates on the original post. I was looking at Jaunary 2006, not 07.

$40-50 for travel + $125 for an hour of Jarrad's magic + Japtrix fee = put me on the list.

Please count me in for Saturday. I hope we can get enough people for this day becuase I wouldnt be able to attend on Sunday. Im thinking Japtrix might charge around $40 a person based on their pricing from last weekend's dyno day.

I think last time JapTrix was $75... but I'm having a brain fart... so please don't quote me on that. When I speak with Roger to finalize details I'll post it here.

Yeah... I wish my title meant more in real life!

You can get the full address by going to the contact page at www.japtrix.com.
Its basically 2/3 of the way down the east side of Florida.

can he (or anyone) re-flash JDM STi Ver 3 ECUs or would I have to get a Power FC to do custom tuning? Not that I am ready for a tune yet at this time, but it is something I have been wondering...

Your best bet is to call PDX tuning and ask them directly whether Jarrad can work with that ECU.

Alternatively Roger C. at Japtrix has also been tuning cars for a while and knows a number of ECU's, you can call and ask him.

Yup, we should be able to knock that out pretty fast since we already have your race fuel tune.

We can reflash JDM ECUs, but they have to be V7 or later. I do not know of anyone who has a reflash out for the earlier ECUs. We can support other forms of EM, but we need to approve them on a case by case basis for a dyno weekend like this.
