Guys, give it a rest. Ford is doing one thing that most other US companies are not. Standing on their own two feet. Building a better product and securing market segment without asking John Q Taxpayer for money.
Sure its a ford that can go 1000 miles on a tank of gas. I say Kudos to Ford, and I give them credit where its due. Cars like this that are smartly engineered and can be bought today are why Ford will be around 10 years from now. Still births like the Volt cannot compete. Instead of just going off some knee jerk reaction , 'its a ford', why dont you step back and see how important this car can be to them, and for keeping Americans employed. |

This is actually quite amazing. The Fusion is actually one of the better looking mid-size sedans Ford has brought out in the last 10 years. The fact that it's a hybrid will help to bolster its re-sale value down the road.

That is REALLY cool.
Way back in the day, I thought Ford was the best US car maker, then over the years they dropped way the hell down to last place, but over the past 12 months, Ford has impressed the hell out of me. It seems that even if they don't have the best cars on the road just yet, they are getting there... like the Fiesta and eventually the Euro-Focus and Mondeo. Obviously that 81 MPG average is NOT gonna be anywhere close to typical, but still that is a very impressive number - even if you could get HALF that in "real world" driving, that would still be very good for a mid-sized car. I would like to see/hear more of EXACTLY how they got there though. |

Way to give the Prius, Insight, et al a run for their money. GM, Chrysler, take note.

I really, really hope Ford hits the jackpot with the Fusion Hybrid. It would be wonderful to see a successful hybrid that doesn't have to look silly just to get customers. This car is much bigger & more spacious than the Prius, so maybe it'll resonate with customers who don't want to sacrifice comfort & utility while still doing their part to cut fuel consumption.

Nice job. I would consider one of these for my wife if it got anywhere near half that mileage.

Plus, they've finally gotten their head out of their butt and are going to start using Euro models. Granted, they should have done this years ago, but at least they are trying. I have much more respect for Ford right now than I do for the other members of the Big 2.25. |

What is that reason?
Both the rear axle nuts on my Subaru came loose in the first 25K miles. Is that the reason I buy a Subaru? Nothing like that ever happened on any of the domestic cars I've owned... Methinks it's about time to quit suckling the Japanese imports just because they're Japanese. The domestics had issues years ago but do quite well now. And as the world turns round and round, now it's the Japanese' turn playing the 'oops, we got complacent and let quality slip' game. |

Ford is really puttin out some nice cars with some nice engines. I don't even question their reliability anymore. They have really improved the quality of their vehicles which was lacking for so long.
