Default FP Green vs. Blouch 20g xt-r

Using my phone, I tried to research, or find a good comparison between these two turbos.

With a 350whp goal, what would you choose?

20G XT-R unless you are using less than 93 octane, then I would go with the FP Green.

I would chose the Blouch. They have better customer service, and you can get a 10cm turbine housing if you want. A lot of people love the green, however a lot of people also hate FP's customer service. I would take a regular 20g-xt over the xt-r. The 20g-xt will get you to 350whp with less boost, and I hear they spool pretty well. If it breaks it will be a lot cheaper to repair too.

I guess I was looking for flow charts, and what not.

My Tuner also said Blouch 20G. Said they spool very quick, for a 20G. My friend just got an FP Green, 350+whp. But from my reading they have a 7 or 8cm housing. My friend said his 5 and 6th gear suck. We both have 2.5L but the JDM transmission. I think I would like a 3" Inlet with 10cm housing for a bit more top end.

I read on the FP site, the green was like a 59 for flow, while the biggest Blouch doesn't come close to that. So I thought there was some sort of confusion.

FP Green Link Quote: "The new for 2008 HTA update for the FP GREEN HTA***8482; for Subaru STI/WRX delivers an increase in maximum flow rate from 49lb/min to over 56lb/min without an increase in turbo lag, while also decreasing compressor outlet temperatures with better compressor efficiency than previous models. "

Blouch 20G XT-R

Quote: " 47lbs per min "

You are sadly mistaken. The Blouch Dom 5 is 65 lb/min and is capable of 600+ HP. Much more than you will ever produce from the Green.

Also by comparing the Green and the 20g, your are comparing apples to oranges. The Green is a 30r based turbo. The 20g is much smaller in comparison. The equivalent to a green would be the Dom 3 (55lb/min 30r based).

I would just listen to your tuner. Tons of people are running 20g setups making around 350whp.

1. No question about listening to my tuner.
2. I'm not mistaken, I was quoting directly from their website(s). I agree, I am begining to see my apples and orange comparison. Thanks!

Why 20G XT or 20G XT-R?

Why do you think its wrong? It's THEIR turbo, they would know better than anyone, what the flow is and how much power its capable of making.

i think the main difference between the xt-r and xt is that the xt-r is ball bearing where as the xt is a journal bearing..
the xt might also have a slightly larger compressor wheel - it is quoted on the blouch site as putting out a bit more hp than the xt-r...

My 7cm 2.4" OG green made 333/325 at the wheels on 91 octane. Not sure what kind of fuel you have.

I have no info on FP, but Blouch has been nothing but helpful in the local community. Some say the new 20g is a cheater 30...

Cherries to berries comparo...

My friends 05 fxt 4eat, and my 04 fxt 4eat were tuned on same dyno, different days....tuner was intrigued that I made more power (5 hp?), as he used his baseline map to get me going...b/c we have similar mods.

Him: built shortblock, blouch polka pickle 2.5 xtr 10cm,torque converter, spearco tmic. 75 degrees

Me: stock block, blouch td06 20g-xt 8cm, ewg, sti tmic, 95 degrees.

Not huge numbers on paper, but just some food for thought when choosing turbos. We are both tuned on 91 and pushing 21psi...I wish there was some 1/4 mile options here in so-cal so we could get to flexxing emuscles.

i had been looking at the blouch 20g after hearing about the customer service they have compaired to FP... yet a few local shops/tunners have tried pushing me towards the FP green over the blouch 20g. said it is a better turbo and would better for my goals. my goals would be 400 to 450awhp with a built block. big difference there but i would be willing to accept 380awhp too. so take out of that what you will.

The 20GXT-R has a lower hp rating than the 20GXT because of its smaller turbine wheel.

+1 on the 20G XT having a bigger turbine than the XTR, a phone call to blouch would have told you this way in advance.
