I just added your dyno graph as a comment, it's funny to think that you can smoke 90% of all STI's out there with your stock looking wrx

Awesome build and great numbers.

Stupid question, is the boost gauge obstructed by the wiper lever, and does it obstruct the speedometer at all? I noticed it in the second video and really like the placement.

Real nice numbers! I'm hitting 400 hp on the airboy spreadsheet for me at 24 psi. I know I have a safe and reliable tune for my stock block at the moment... but, I kinda want to up the boost to 26 psi now... I just wanna keep it safe and I know i'm pushing it.

I'm curious what this car would put down on either RS Motors dyno or DB's. Any plans on doing some pulls on either of theirs for comparison sake?

This is a pretty accurate photo of what I see from the driver's seat.

I a little bit of the boost gauge is blocked, but only the part that doesn't matter. The oil pressure gauge is blocked quite a bit. I can see it if I lean forward and look. It blocks a minimal amount of the OEM coolant temp gauge.

Doubt it. I'd like to keep the tranny in one piece as long as possible.

This tune did 438WHP on Airboy at 26psi.

I was on RS's dyno when I had the 20G XTR, stock motor and lower boost. It did 390WHP at 22psi. Same tune did 366WHP on Airboy. The new tune does 438WHP @ 26psi on Airboy. So, 438-366=72. And 72+390=462. Haha. I am not making this up. Very odd coincidence. In reality, I think it would probably do low/mid 400's at RS.

Don't mean to wake up an older thread, but was the choice of the stock cat-back for the sake of noise, or was there another determining factor? Kind of curious if there could be anymore power pulled out of this with a larger/aftermarket catback, and how much.

Yes, it was simply to keep it quiet. I switched to the GReddy Ti-C exhaust (3.15" piping, N1 style muffler) and Virtual Dyno showed that it gained around 20WHP, but it was a little loud for me.

Since then I switched to the GReddy SP Elite (quad tip, much quieter) and the Invidia EL header. Recent logs still show me about 20-25WHP higher than when I dyno'd with the stock header and stock exhaust.

From what I've seen, the stock cat back is pretty decent, but at 400+ WHP it does start taking a little power away. Most all of the 3" options will do fine at that point. An N1 style can is going to be best, but it's not a huge difference.

There's no way your making more power than me and I have a Dom2.5xtr making shy over 400 with an aggressive tune on a built block. But then again... could it be possible?

Depends on dyno and tuning. I think Phatron usually uses Airboy, which reads a little lower than a Dynojet (more like a Mustang). What is your boost pressure at peak power? Changes in boost can have a pretty significant impact on power output.

Here is an example of that, which I did a few days ago:

I did back to back pulls on the same stretch of road at varying boost levels and then plotted out the results in Virtual Dyno (reads very similar to the Dynojet that I was on for the original post). I did pulls at 20psi, 24psi (really more like 23.5psi) and then 27psi. The back to back results at each boost level were consistent withing a couple HP, and each increase in boost changed the peak power by about 40WHP.

Sorry for another post, but I was just thinking that another good way to compare actual power output is 50-100mph time. If you post a speedo video to this thread (HERE) I can calculate the 50-100mph time.

Last time I logged I peak right at 25 psi and taper to 23 psi. I noticed a bit of boost loss due to my fmic. When I had my tmic I would lose 1.5 psi. I'm searching for more power, and i eventually will find it in a Dom4xtr. Lol!!! I started MMA again so my priorities shifted a slight bit.

I recently moved and I don't have good roads to log close by. Next time I hit up the canyons I will log and try to get some footage.

This is pretty close to my log that did 440WHP in Virtual Dyno. That should be around 400WHP on Airboy, so that seems to be in the ballpark for what you have. Do you have full bolt ons (header, EWG, etc)? Are you running E85?

It did pretty well against the Dom3 the previous year too

Sounds very, very similar to mine. I am externally gated and have the slightly smaller turbo, though. I think if you turned up the boost a little and hopped on a Dynojet it would probably make the same numbers as mine.
