Default Error code 1014

Hey guys I just bought a cobb accessport off of a private seller.
I wasn't able to check to see if it was unmarried because he didn't have his sti anymore and mine is at subaru. So I bought it on a whim that I agreed on 350.

It's version 002 and its for my 04 sti.
I plugged it into my buddies 04 wrx and poped up with error code 1014 when he tried to install in his car. I knew it wouldn't work but I wanna make sure that the code only popped up bcsuse it was a non sti.

Any insight?

Yes, that error code will appear when attempting to install on the wrong vehicle. If you have a SUB-002 version 2 AccessPORT, that will work only with the 04-07 STi, 06-07 WRX, 05-06 LGT, and 04-06 FXT. The SUB-001 version 2 AccessPORT will only work with the 02-05 WRX.
