FS 1991 Turbo Legacy
Got a buddy who has a 91 Turbo legacy AT
It has 140k miles on it Here's the info Josh, I've had the car for a little over a year, and only driven it a few thousand miles. I've spent some money on it, however, recently replacing the steering rack, front drive axles and CVs, front wheel bearings, tires, etc. It had been hit in the rear driver's side door when I bought it. I've replaced that door and painted it to match the car. It has a very strong turbo engine, AWD auto trans, and the rear limited slip rear end. The trans will be the first thing that needs servicing. According the the Legacy club, the servos in the rear of the tranny are the first failure point. At that time they can be repaired or an overhauled tranny installed. Some listmembers even swap out the auto for a manual (from WRX, it is the same trans, fortunately now they can be found, unlike a few years ago). I have Subaru engines all over my property as I install them in Vanagons. This is why I became interested in the Turbo car. But then a twin turbo late model RX7 came along, and the Subaru lost favor since the RX is my deam car. The Legacy is a haul-ass car, make no mistake about it. I've got a JDM intercooler for it that I have not installed. I'll reduce the price and sell it with the intercooler for $2000, leaving the $500 difference for the new owner to address any flaws. It is not perfect but is a fine example of one of these cars ... I've disabled the ABS since I can't seem to clear the codes, the power antenna makes bad sounds (but still works), the locks need lubricating, and I've never tried the sunroof. It is fast, handles well, stops great, has new Potenza tires, etc. I like it a lot.
