Default Remove alternator - what am I doing wrong

I am doing the grounding piece on my04. I got all the points done, except the alternator bolt. It is the long bolt that connects the alternator and A/C unit. I searched on remove alternator and such and all I read was, just slide the long screw out. Well I got the back nut, plate piece off and the bolt threaded all the way to the alluminum back on the alternator itself. Now, I had to apply pressure to the back of the bolt and use ratchet on other end to loosen it to that point. Since it is at alluminum, I can't apply pressure and it only tightens itself. ty.

I am assuming you took the belt off the alternator. If not, it coudl be under enough tension that you will have a hard time getting the bolt out.
