Also in the market, looking DFW or Austin areas. I'm separating from the USAF, have 8 years experience as officer/leader in flying operations. I also posses an active security clearance. If anyone has any leads in your current line of work for me I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm working with headhunters now and also applying for stuff on clearancejobs.com and the like.

IT guys: just received this press release for jobs in Austin.

Quote:
Hi News Room, hope all is well. We wanted to send along news regarding significant job creations in Austin, Texas. General Motors plans to create 500 information technology jobs for its Austin IT Innovation Center-one of four centers to be built in the United States. Software developers, project managers, database experts, business analysts and other information technology professionals will be hired to work in center which is intended to drive breakthrough ideas into GM vehicles and business processes globally.

Austin was selected as a location due to its reputation as a large technology hub with plenty of skilled candidates to choose from. The center will help to continue strengthening the already strong GM presence in Texas and provide valuable job additions to the state while positively stimulating the local economy. If you are interested in more details, please see here: http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/n...07_austin.html

Good luck bro. As someone who's been in the "market" recently, Houston is a great place to be if you're looking for a job. Wishing you the best & hope you land on your feet fairly soon.

Hey guys, I've moved to south Dallas recently and I'm looking for a job working in the A/V industry. I just came from New Mexico where I worked in the film industry and also in professional A/V installs for business and events. For the last six or so years. The reason for the move to Dallas was to get a job that would allow me to go back to school and work on my masters degree. But for now the job is priority number one. I have a BA in film and about three years of on set experience. I currently have a seasonal job at Best Buy in Cedar Hill but I need something that pays better before January.
I have references and resumes available too.

Thanks in advance,
Tiny

I'm a senior marketing guru for a firm here in Austin. We handle Adwords accounts, SEO, usability, and more. We're hiring from time to time and it's a good place to get your foot in the door on the digital marketing world.

Send resumes via PM.

I'm afraid my only experience was going there to help make a video for our company 18 months or so ago. i was impressed and, while we were there, the very next group to use the meeting room we were in was orientation for 3-4 new employees - and one of the 'handlers' our group had said it was a frequent occurrence. Dunno about nowadays. they were handling a 'social media' package for our company. Seemed like a hip place to work - but it also seemed like you better be good and self-directing and customer oriented. Of course, I'm sure they have plenty of techs for all the gear there that don't interface with customers.

anyway - kinda impressive place

Anyone who is interested!
The SBA Office of Disaster Assistance is hiring like crazy right now. Anyone with either lending experience or a degree. They are hiring pretty much anyone who applies. (They will teach you everything you need to know)
It's a temp job helping with hurricane sandy disaster loans. They are working 7 days a week 10 hrs a day. You can make some good money doing this... While it last. They are saying the job should last until the end of 2013 as Sandy is being recorded as the #1 disaster in US history.
You can email [email protected]. He's the big boss and will pass your info along. Starting pay is $15/hr ($23/hr for overtime) and it goes up from there based upon your experience. You get paid holidays and paid sick days (after 3 months) but no other benefits unless you get hired on full time.
You can also call the main office at 817-868-2300
