Default Question on the Stock STi BBS rims...

I am looking to get a new set of rims and tires for my 04' STi, I found someone who is interested in buying the stock BBS rims plus tires. The tires have about8500 miles on them, and the front right rim has on spot of curbe rash that was there when I got the car... can someone please tell me how much the thing the rims plus tires are worh.. and also somewhere that I can find a nice set of new rims and tires where I won't get ripped off!! thanks!

-Tim

Probably around a grand for the set.

Try Tire Rack for a tire and Wheel package.

$1k sounds about right for your set of wheels & tires, but I think you should keep them--why do you want something new?

Stock BBS wheels are underrated by lots of STi owners, especially those that replace them with Rotas.

BBS: good "name," forged, relatively light, OEM offset, hubcentric.

I only know for certain that SSRs (and Rotas) are also hubcentric. SSRs are also forged (cast for Rotas), and they weigh less than the BBS wheels.

The SSRs are not OEM offset, but at 8.5 width and +48 it's a pretty good compromise. The backspacing is almost identical to the '05 17x8 BBS as well.

SSR Comps (sold by TireRack) aren't the most attractive aftermarket wheel, but they're not too shabby, either. They're the only aftermarket wheel I seriously considered (and bought 8 of 'em ).

Stock- no matter how good- is still stock.
Some people just can't stand to be stock-like me.
There are plenty of quality rims that fit.
Start with the Venders for sale-wheels/tire forum.

I think the stock BBS is $2700 per set if you buy them new. I would suggest you to keep them!

yeah and youll only get like $1000 if you sell them. what are you gonna get for $1000 thats better than your stock wheels. youll have to spend way more than that to get anything that has the same combination of strength, weight, and looks! as with anything aftermarket in any enthusiast sport/hobby: strong, light, inexpensive... pick two. the stock sti wheels are essentially free since they came with the car! but i know some people just cant have stock and will spend money on something thats worse. thats cool too, if youre into that kinda thing.

....and some people throw away the pearl and eat the oyster.....

The '05 STi(and the SVX) is a 5x114.3 pattern.....and all the rest are 5x100....the 'modern' Subie's anyway
