Default 04 STi wheels

i'm getting a silver STi but it has the stock silver bbs rims. I will be most likely selling those and purchasing some type of gold set of rims because im stuck on the silver w/ gold rims color scheme.

does anyone know some good rims that are gold, fit over the brake pads of the sti and how much are they? preferrably 5,6,or 7 spoke rims but any will due 17in 7.5in width

another question...anyone know how much a set of gold bbs stock STi rims are from the dealer or where to get them for a good price? thank you

I would think you could find someone to trade with for sti golds (maybe kick in a few bucks), without much trouble.

OEM STi wheels cost $750 each from the dealer.

Finding a wheel in 17" to cover your calipers isn't too hard, there are a few Rota's that fit, as well as some JDM Advans, etc... Look around, find what you want, and just ask.

Greg

BTW - why didn't you just get the gold BBS wheels in the first place?

It's not the offset that helps clear the brakes, it's the design. Many 17x7.5 wheels with 48 offset don't clear the brakes.

the offset depends on the wheels. the stocks are +53 but for most after market wheels, the offsets seem to be anywhere from +37 to +48. i'm pretty sure that 8.5's won't fit. I think even 8's will be tight. i don't even think i've heard of someone running 8.5's on a STi or WRX with out having a widebody and putting spacers on there. i'm also unsure whether those SSRs will fit. i know most things advan, volk, and rota will fit. I have 18X7.5 volk LE28N's (gold with polished lip) with a +37 offset. with 5 people in my car, the back tires rub the inside of my fenders over bumps.

The fitment for the RG's for an STi goes as follows: Advan RG = 17x8.5_ET43__(16.5 lbs)

offset should be 48mm - 53mm

the SSR Competition is

17x8.5 48mm and will fit perfectly

but, no gold version in the states at this time

the SSR GT7 is

17x7.5 50mm and is available in gold for the STi

That's the stock offset for WRX and RS's, with 6.5" wheels, not stock for STI's.

+53 is also the stock offset for the STi stock rims.

In actuallity the Advan RG = 17x8.5_ET43 will fit, it's just Tirerack's reccommendation to not go below the 48mm (one affect is that a lower offset may ruin wheel bearings later in time). But I guess it comes down to, anything Tirerack doesn't carry won't be right .
