...since the rally car thread was so much fun!

Lotus 49... one of my favorites, especially the pre-aero 1967 version:

I'd have to pick the Brabham BT46B "Fan Car", if only for it's blatant ignoring of the rules...

"What's that giant fan on the back for?"

"Well it's certainly NOT for sucking air out from underneath the car...it's for cooling. Honest."

Auto Union V-16 Type C 1936. 550BHP Taken at the Goodwood festival of Speed, I believe. This car is about 20 years OLDER than the BRM above. What a magnificent example of racing car design.

From one of the worst weekends in F1 history. Rubens in a Jordan.

^^^^

I think that's a picture of Vittorio "The Guerilla" Brambilla in a March 751.

He only ever won a single race and was so excited about it he managed to stuff the car into the Armco on his victory lap. Doh!

Actually I don't think the Coloni Subaru even managed to qualify for a Grand Prix.

I always like the Toleman cars for some reason. This is the TG183B. Just cool looking.

This is the TG184.

Both were driven by Senna. RIP Ayrton.

Old Benetton cars were one of my favourites as well.

What's the deal with Jordan? Supposedly they used to be a really good team; what happened?

Yes indeed! I'd wanted to hear that car since having read about it in Nick Mason's book "At the Limit". The European printing, titled "Into the Red", was recently reprinted, and includes an audio CD with recordings of the majority of cars tested - including the BRM. I've probably gotten more enjoyment out of "At the Limit" than any other book I've owned. I really need to get a copy of the reprint with the CD. Thanks for posting the link!!!
