Default HELP need stock headlights for a day

Long story short: Retrofitted my 04 headlights with morimoto mini h1 projectors and 4300k hid kit. FAILED mass inspection because the ****tard says i have "aftermarket HID boxes." if anyone has some extra 04-05 headlights i could borrow for a day I would be GREATLY appreciated as i did butcher the plastic on my lights to fit the projectors in and an H1 halogen will not fit in the projector. PLEASE HELP A FELLOW TAXACHUSETTS SLAVE IN NEED. I will throw you a few bucks AND come out to you.
thanks in advance

Where did you go? I know someone that works in Acura Boston that might be able to do your inspection

Was the retrofit too flashy, and that gave it away?

So do you or do you not have aftermarket (non-DOT) HID parts?

If you retrofit using factory projectors from another road legal car, then is it legal? (I honestly don't know, just curious)

Any after market bulb ballast out housing that isn't DOT approved isn't legal.

But hey, neither is an exhaust, or tint, or lowering your car to a certain point or doing 60 in a 55. **** it.

Why not rip off the Fail sticker and just go to another shop during the day? Maybe better luck? Even better try a subaru dealership, hourly employees care alot less than a small shop owner in my experience. Best of luck man.

If you got a fail sticker any inspection shop in MA can see the notes.

No, I know. But it's a little easier to make an over sight of they don't notice the big red racing R. Lol.

It's pretty obvious in the system, not just the big red R on the windshield.

As soon as its scanned it shows it failed and what for. You actually have to click and say its been corrected so there is know way your going to oversight it. Dont move to New Hampshire if your frustrated with Mass inspection. NH is 100 times worse and stricter but its also easier to get a sticker if you know the right guy.Mass even knowing the right guy cant always produce a good result.

That is actually not 100% correct. Yes all state inspections shops have a webcam hooked up to there machines and theoretically could watch a shop. I dont think my webcam has gone off once while i used to do ma inspections.

Optics are approved for the vehicle theyre going in. Swapping DOT Approved parts from one car to another is not legal unless its a completely bolt on modification. (For example, putting STI Lamps onto WRXs would be legal, putting S2000 projectors into WRXs is not).
