Reviving the meet, at least for a "holy **** we haven't had a meet in a year" meet.

Edit 2006-07-12: Reworked to remain current (Hooters!)

Michigan's biggest weekly Subaru (Australian for car) meet has moved! Please join us at the Fountain Walk Hooters (located directly behind BW3's) every Tuesday. This event is year round and is rain, snow or shine. People arrive early around 6 PM to get tables but most arrive around 7 PM. Just ask for the Subaru club when you come in.

Hooters is featuring trivia every Tuesday night and that starts at 7 PM. You can win gift certificates for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place finish in trivia and door prizes all night in various contests of skill.

For those that want to hang in the parking lot before, during and after Hooters please remember that we have special permission to loiter in the Fountain Walk complex parking lot and we can lose those rights if people act like jackasses. So please don't act like a fool, respect those around you and the facility. Thanks and see you there!

When: Every Tuesday, 7:00PM-??
Where: BW3 Novi, MI (See mapquest link below)
Who: Anyone with an interest in talking cars.

As Subie FI so beautifully put it:
This is a reminder to everyone who attends this meet that you should not be messing around in the mall parking lot during or after this meet. We have an agreement with both Fountain Walk Mall and the Novi Police that we will not do anything stupid at this meet. This includes donuts, burnouts, driving at high speed while in the parking lot, and anything else a clown ricer would do. If it draws attention DO NOT DO IT. I REPEAT, DO NOT DO IT.

I understand that doing this kind of stuff can be fun and entertaining however we do not want to lose the use of this parking lot for our meets.

If you invite someone to this meet please let them know the rules and if you see someone about to be stupid, stop them.

Thank you.

Default Michigan (Detroit Area) Weekly Subaru Meet/Thread

Where:
Buffalo Wild Wings at Fountain Walk in Novi

When:
7:30pm on Wednesday November 14th, 2012

More meet dates to follow...

What:
Any car you feel like driving. We're friendly and like cars. It started as a Subaru meet, but half the members now drive something else and we simply enjoy good times and good friends. We apologize in advance if we come off as cold or uninviting at first. Over the years this has become more an old group of friends than just a Subaru meet and sometimes we're too busy discussing last weekend's bar outing to realize there are new faces. Give us a couple weeks to get to know you and you'll fit right in.

How:
With respect! If you want to start fights or cause drama you won't be welcome.

So if you're friendly, upbeat, and respectful we'd like to see you stop by sometime.

Aw man.... I like that we were like the 3rd longest thread in the MWSOC... hope some of those others are getting pruned too.

So where tomorrow?

Also, in the interest of posterity, what was the final post count for the Novi thread?

My vote is for LPYC. I've got some stuff to do right after work so it's most convenient for me.

OR we could get burgers @ Millers in Dearborn and then drink beers there as well. That's even more convenient for me. I can ride my bicycle there.

You can still get a DUI on your bike

Yacht Club today...we'll see if I get yelled at again

Novi thread died at 12020 posts. Post 12019 was me linking everyone to this thread. Post 12020 was Ben deleting it before anyone could read my post and follow the link. Glad you can all read and found your way here .

Hey, Ben, how 'bout you put a "Don't Panic" sticky at the top of the forum directing people to the proper threads...

The word you're looking for is 'plurality'.

I might be there around 6 as well. I need to stop by REI and find some riding shoes. I'm sick of my feet bouncing off the pedals when I hit bumps or shift gears climbing hills.

what kind of pedals are you running? platforms? clipless? toe clips/straps?

benny - we don't ever think you're going to show up for a meet so why drive rx8?

Shimano m324's at the moment. Flat on one side, SPD clip on the other. I was going to wait on shoes to see if I felt I really needed them...I think I do. I'm also debating getting the m647 pedals that have clips on both sides but still have enough of a cage that I could ride the bike with normal shoes on.

I vote LPYC, since I will have to officially buy a round of beer. Signed the offer today.

It was a trade in. Never drove one before so I claimed it as a temporary demo car.
