I picked up my daughter at her friends in Southie at 4:30 and drove home. Fair number of cars out and the BPD an MSP cars apparently decided that they had other law enforcement activities to attend to than stop every car they saw. Tons of snow removal equipment out.

Winds are 38 gusting to 51 at 8pm, driving would not be particularly entertaining.

This state is pathetic.

When we had 3 1/2 feet when I lived in VT for undergrad I had to walk to class the next day. Now I can't drive in a little flurry?

RI and MA have nothing on NH, VT, and presumably ME for snow removal.

got ticketed on I90E for driving in the left lane. Was going about 40 mph and following a SUV. Ticket stated I was driving 50+ in a 65 mph zone - "speed greater than reasonable"

Snow removal?

I hope that's not what they call it in VT.

Bummer. I know I've heard the speed limit is for "ideal conditions" so if it as much rains, they can say you're speeding whenever they want.

I got pulled over 10 years ago during a moderate snowstorm on I-91 north in VT. I was following a state trooper who was going exactly 55 mph. He slowed down to about 52 near an exit and I though he was going to get off, so I went into the left lane and passed him. Then he pulled me over and started yelling, "What is your problem? I decide what the maximum safe speed to drive is, not you!" He looked just like this: He gave me a ticket for going 56 in a 55 to prove a point. What a jerk. I didn't want to drive 4 hours to fight it in court, so I ended up just paying it, but I did write a letter describing how arrogant he was.

I was out last night as well down here in Rhode Island and on the back roads never saw really anyone else. Only saw one cop the whole night. I had heard that they had pulled a lot of them off the road.

Even if I wanted to go anywhere, there are drifts on my street in both directions that are higher than my hood.

Yay I can drive on my street again!

Except for those huge piles of snow in the middle.

A guy on NESR drove down to the town center in Monterrey, MA (SW corner of state) to get some milk Sunday afternoon and was given a $500 ticket by the local PD.

Yesterday I drove to another neighborhood in Boston to pick up my daughter at 4:30 and the BPD and MSP had apparently decided they had better law enforcement duties to perform than stop every car they saw to see if you worked for a hardware store.
