Yup just double sided tape.

Haha that sounds like it would work just as well. I think I've had heard these called "dead kittens"

Is it actually just double sided tape? Like the tape is stuck to the fabric? Not sewed on or anything? I think I might try to make one with velcro sewed onto the fuzzy fabric and then self stick velcro onto the housing.

I will double check later but I don't think its sewed on. The material is so light it doesn't need much to hold it on.

I would use the waterproof backing. I had on the open back, inside the car last time. The wind noise made using the audio almost impossible. That is why my video only cuts in the GoPro volume when a car passes me. I hope to get a better sound this time around, but I don't think I'll follow your footsteps with the windsock.

Hey did you get adhesive clips? You could always clip it to your helmet that way. I was thinking about doing that, but sticking something to my helmet seems like such a bad idea. If you needed to "use" your helmet, something could easily catch it and make for a very bad day. I know people do it all the time.... so IDK.....

I have only heard bad, bad things about the sound with the waterproof backing. Fuzzy covers like this are used as wind blockers on microphones in many fields (ie. high end TV/movies, etc). I figure it's worth a shot. Seems like it would be better than just muffling it completely (waterproof housing).

I didn't get anything except the normal Motorsports kit. I don't know what's included. A camera on your helmet doesn't sound like the best idea, but tons of people do it. Maybe it just breaks off in an accident.

Yeah I thought about that, I would hope so. But don't want to risk my neck on that one

The windsock isn't a bad idea at all. I have about 8 years under my belt as a producer and sound engineer, the idea can help if done right. If done wrong it could make more noise. The simple fact is that the microphone inside is not going to provide high quality sound. It is a good mic, it can provide good sound, but it is far from "great". I plan on adding my own music, then panning in the GoPro volume as needed. I would love to be able to mic my car like I would a set of drums in the studio. It can be done, just not with my budget. I am just going to stick with the waterproof case. I plan on moving the camera every session, inside and outside the car. The other housing failed last time I was @ BIR, we'll see how well this one does.

Hey are we doing brakes on your bro's car anytime soon?

He said he got the fluid. I'll have to ask him when he wants to do it.

You should just put the fuel pump and starter on switches, race car style. That would be sick. You're car is at the power level in which that might be acceptable.

I was thinking that a few switches and a push button start would be fun to have, but really just a novelty at this point. The key was simple enough. Doesn't offer any more security or anything, just one less thing in my pocket.

Yeah I hear ya, it would be cool look if it was done cleanly, which I know you would obviously do. It's just something you don't see that much. I don't know how much you're into interior mods. (I'm not at all)

Nope, not at all. If it's not something that I touch or makes my car go faster, I probably won't do it. I do want to do tint someday, though... And if it's cheap/free and seems fun, then I might do it. Wiring kill switches seems like it would be expensive and a pain, lol.

Lol. yeah, but you look like a man that likes a good project, and sooner or later you're going to run out of stuff to do. It might make a good winter project.

Electrically it would probably be simple enough. Making it all look pretty would be the hard part. I'd rather not just start drilling holes all over the place.

Down at the bottom of the console would probably be ideal for a switch panel being there is some access from the back to run wires and a panel could be fabricated. but I think I remember seeing your AFR gauge there.

Agreed. A switch/gauge cluster would be pretty bad a$$ looking if done properly. Make it official.

I got it, put the switches above you like airplane style. lol

Got it on eBay. Just had to keep my eye open. Second one worked perfectly. Send me an email if you're interested in the flip key shell.
