You need the later pad. You will have the same problem with the back. Check out the Stoptech link in the thread.

You have to measure the width of the ears on the brake pads. Some have 02 brakes, 02/03 mixed, or 03. Mine are 02/03. Post the width here in mm and somebody will tell you what you have.

Go to the stoptech link above, look at the the shape of the pads. Then look at yours, you probably have to pull a wheel. You SHOULD be the D929 size.

I was 9/02 IIRC and have the new fronts (929) but the old rears (770).

Are we still having problems w/ this??

up to 06/02 or thereabouts - old fr/old rear (13mm tabs on both)

about 7/02 to 10/02 - new fronts/old rears (10mm tabs - 13 mm tabs - so a visual should confirm that the rear tabs are larger)

11/02-12/02 - new fronts/mix in rear so you must check

1/03 on - new fronts/new rears (10mm tabs/7 mm tabs)

Lets apply logic - if the rear tabs are smaller than the front tabs then you have NEW rear pads. (7 is less than either 10 or 13)

I wish they would but the tap measurements in the sticky.
I didn't even have to pull the wheels off to measure them.

That doesn't agree with your dealer saying you have 'old style' pads

old pad in old bracket

new pad in old bracket
