Stress is one thing. Progress is another, of which you have there. Most of us get stuck ot held up on things. My car hasn't moved from her cave for some time now and it makes me sad.

theres a place out by the convention center (NoPo) that does machine/head work and they do a good job. they were recommended to me by Dale at NW Subaru Service (best subaru guy around, he's out in hillsboro). i only had them machine a flywheel for me though

heres a few new pics. its coming along slowly but surely. im hoping i can take it to a local shop and have them finish the wiring. the harness is pretty much all run, it just needs the splices and a new fuel pump.

i also picked up a set of ver 4 sti seats. i felt like these went better with the style of the car. the ver 8's felt too bulky for my taste.

yeah, im kicking myself for not taking photos. so since i swapped the steering rack from stock L to wrx, the grommet that fits in the firewall is a lil different. the wrx rack diameter is smaller but the grommet is thicker and required some dremelling to fit. the problem now is that the wrx steering colum isnt far enough forward to touch the grommet thats in the firewall.

it bolts up to the dash perfect and to the connection to the steering rack perfect, but its a half inch or so short of touching the firewall grommet i installed...

im not really sure what to do about it...

i could modify it to maybe slide forward into the engine bay further by making the notch that goes into the steering assembly bigger. then i would also need to modify where it attatches to the dash beam to move forward...

or i could try to make the firewall grommet come back into the cabin further somehow to make up the distance...

i dunno, anybody else ran into this or have any advise???

For you sam!

So all power locks and window work and all the back end is done. Waiting for connectors for the front and we need to find the rubber firewall plugs. But other than that it is alive.

Enjoy
