i understand that, but i figure if you're going to enough length of replace the stock header you should have enough resources to disable the P0420 code and be done with it. you'll still pass emissions. the rear cat cleans enough of the exhaust if you want to pass a sniff test, too.

you also still have a cat on the car, the rear one. so how are the cops going to know any better? answer: they wont.

It's not about the cops finding out. It's when you get the emissions done, not only is there the sniffer but a visual check. That is look under the car for cats and count them. If one is missing, it doesn't matter if it passes the sniffer or clear of codes, it will fail.

I don't understand your logic that the rear cat would scrub enough of the exhaust. If the rear cat would scrub the emissions enough, then Subaru wouldn't have put two in the exhaust. Sure there is probably some built in design factor for the cat but it doesn't magically double it's effectiveness.

Bio, it's not the CEL I'm worried about. It's all the other **** that has been mentioned.

Occasionally there is a cop that will find it. It's rare but they're out there.

in WI all we have is an electronic check. they are supposed to do a visual check, but they really dont care. if i dont have any codes showing then i pass immediately. yay for states with bogus emissions laws ruining it for everyone.

build me a set without a cat.

Oh and to the people out there that say you could just put that money into the STI I really want you to stop and think about some basic mathematics before you open your mouth. If you already spent 13675 more from the start and then put the same amount in I still win!
I guess the whole point to this rant is, if the only advice you can give is go buy a WRX or an STI maybe you should just go to the top of the page and click the little arrow at the top left and find somewhere else to be a jack***.
but how many people are gunna drop 13k into a 2.5i? not many..

thats great then, i just know theirs a lot of people out their like me who want nice wheels like that but wont spend the time to actually clean them as from white it seems like you are a vibrant person with the unique colors so id say go for it but idk if the chrome lip will necessarily help it out ya know?
