build thread coming once the car is done.

Love the car! The Goodspeed peeps build good ****! The only thing that pisses me off, everytime I look at it is the intercooler pipes, why mine didnt get them after a year of being there is beyond me. And if you looking for 500whp, you need head work, remember power is made in the heads of the car not the shortblock. The Shortblock only lets you run power safley, go with the Cossie its only 500 more and I saw one who blew at 20k that was running just shy of 600whp up here in Washington and guess what its going back to Cosworth to be redone for free, who can beat that customer service.

No, not at all. Don't get me wrong, cosworth is awesome and produces excellent products. I was just being a smart ass.

But it is true that ACL manufactures Cosworth bearings. Unfortunately, since ACL Australia went under and ACL USA hasn't fully caught up with demand yet, it seems that the more expensive Cosworth branded units are all that car available (if you want ACL's).

ACL is all caught up and you can get them pretty much anywhere again, also when ACL was out, cosworth also ran out untill ACL was caught up

As far as I have ever been told, the Cosworth bearings are indeed made by ACL although they are to a different specification.

the car is going to be a dd still and i live about 3 hrs away from phx so the goal is for a nice reliable street/track car! i dont have e85 around here so pump gas is the only option. the cosworth is what im wanting to get just because i havent heard of anyone say anything bad about them. But asu you have a good idea.... i might just get some head work done since it torn down anyways right? how much of a power gain would i actually see on pump gas?

Garrett has turned to crap lately. Their quality is declining at an alarming rate. There is thread after thread about newer Garrett turbos will all sorts of issues.

I think my next kit will be a Borg-Warner turbo and they seem to be gaining traction and seem to have some good offerings. I'll need to do some more research though.

All I remember seeing was some guy in the general discussion talking about how he works for Honeywell and that they are outsourcing to Mexico and China, and how that has affected quality control.

Mind sharing some of the issues that have been happening? I'm behind the times and want to catch up.

I just assumed you probably work for Honeywell because they are in this area. Oops. I didn't know Borg Warner was releasing a variable geometry turbo that is universal t3/t4 flange or will it have a subaru type housing and flange?

Im not 100% sure but there is strong speculation that stock locations turbos will be released for subys. And most defiantly it will have a t3/t4 flange compatible turbo. If intrested contact Geoff at Full Race on or around the 2nd of November Im sure he could explain the offerings, from my understanding Full Race will carry these only.

And sorry I took it the wrong way, and I live in Washington not AZ im in the Army so the SWIC is home, Im just not there.
