I read up on it a bit - mild mods can get it to rev to 7500, though the peak remains well below. In any case, more than enough grunt in stock form. Exhaust needs uncorking IMHO though - it has a weird sound with cats and stock mufflers. Any word on pricing? I've seen estimates from 95-135K...

I don't know any specifics on pricing, but that's a good range for it.
Historically, the Viper has a lot of power to be gained from upgrading the exhaust (and intake). So I don't doubt that a simple after-header exhaust will net 20+whp. Nick |

I read 75-100whp with headers, mufflers, intake, and tune - need to mod the heads for higher revs so I probably wouldn't do that - but definitely do the breathing bolt-ons just for the sound and get the power for free! I've been missing torque lately and this fits the bill perfectly... can't wait for the configurator -

I really dig the interior along with the basic body lines. however, the front and rear facias are way too european like.
I think it lost way too much of its american-ness by the way the designers softened it |

If it turns out that there is a quality defect in the car, I can imagine the criticism about engineering time being spend casting the outline of the Nurburgring into the door pull pocket lining, instead of making sure such-and-such functional part works correctly. It is an interesting little detail, but how many people would have noticed without it being pointed out? |

Cars are getting stupid fast. It's getting worrisome how much car you get for the price today. Tires can't keep up fast enough.

Not to get off-topic but yes, cars are getting ridiculously powerful/fast. I was looking at the aftermarket for the 08+ AMG cars and just an ecu upgrade puts the 5.5L at over 600whp on 91 octane.

013 Viper pricing announced - ($97,395) base price + ($1995) destination
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/09/10/2...leased-w-vide/ This is dirt cheap. In comparison, my '99 Viper ACR had a sticker price of $99k. Nick |

Top Gear (the publication) reviewed one and said it's pretty bad ass, and a really good bargain for what it gives for the money.

I love it - only question is whether you want the GTS for 23K - if you are tracking, probably no need

I didn't read this entire thread, and might have missed it. Why does it come with only 4 pots? Most cars in that price range have the Brembo 6 pots. (z06, AMG, M cars ect..)

Maybe they decided it was a better choice for this design. The number of pistons doesn't effect brake pressure very much, just distribution over the pad surface.
