Default Vishnu Service story to tell

So its been a few weeks since I've placed my order with Vishnutuning to buy their dual tip exhaust... still no exhaust. Orginally I was planing on buying m2's turboback but a friend of my noted that VIshnu's just came out and I should take a look. I was having trouble finding a good vendor for the m2 and figured extra money spent on the vishnu wouldnt be much considering I plan to have my rex for a really long time. So I order the exhaust and change my mind about having it shipped. I decide to go pick it up. I live in the LA area and figure I could go visit a few friends and save some cash on shipping. It would be also a good opportunity to see some quality subaru tuning going on. I called and confirmed that my order would be available for pick up. I get to my friends place- hang out for awhile and then make the call to vishnu. "Order should be in after 5pm call back." No problem I figure I'm in town for a few days and having a good time kicking back. I had to cancel my appointment with Vishnu's recommended install centers since the exhaust wasnt ready but I'll install it myself, it will make a good weekend project. Next day..no go. I'm a pretty calm guy and understand that shipments can get lost but it really bugs me out when I'm given the runaround. To much talking to get the truth. So finally I talk to a pretty good natured guy named Brett. Nice guy after a few minutes he explained that the shippment from australia was lost and that the soonest he could get me an exhaust shipped out for FREE with a bonus battery tie down would be Sunday. I figured no harm done I mean shipments do get lost right? EIther way I had a great few days with freinds and granted my excitment of returning home with a new exhaust dwindled I was still pretty up beat. But now after promises of a phone calls and internet updates..nothing. They're service dept initially handled the situation with a fair compromise. The problem now is that I'm in the dark as to when my exhaust will come in. I mean patience is a virtue and all but I really want my exhaust! Anyway I'll update you guys on the situation and figure I'll give it a few more days until I cancel my order. Its been nearly 3weeks since my initial order and figure whats another few days...but since the ports are all closed here on the west coast (labor dispute) and taking at face value of a shipping issue I'll probably settle for something in stock. Not that that's a bad thing. Anyway sorry for the long story but I thought my fellow I-clubbers should know and maybe this might help people decide which way to go for tuning.

I have a story to tell, too. I bought a used stage zero kit this week, but it was missing the 02 plug and an uppipe stud. I called vishnu tuning today to try to buy the parts. They sent them out FOR FREE. Thanks vishnu.

I've never purchased anything from Vishnu and I'm not trying to stick up for them. I think its not right for a vendor to keep someone in the dark about a product order. But heres a good reason for them promising a product to you and not being able to get it to you on time:

Shipping Problems

P.S. I'm not sure if this effects Vishnu but I'm pretty sure it might have.

How could they be waiting for a "shipment from Australia" when, as the Vishnu website says..

"Conceived, Designed and Manufactured in the USA"

?????????

Where do they buy their turbo flanges at? I don't think anyone in the US makes them, so, unless Vishnu's machinist makes all the flanges, they have to buy them elsewhere.

Just a thought...

Actually, all our flanges are made in the US. Just a few miles away, in fact. Same goes for all fuel rails, pulleys, hose kits, up-pipes, signature turbo-backs, intercooler, mbcs, TEC3 kits, aux. electronics, harnesses, etc,. Right now, the only things that we offer that aren't manufactured in the US is the Unichip, non-signature turbo-back exhaust and some bolt-on turbochargers. Okay, maybe spark plugs too.

The non-signature turbo-back is manufactured for us overseas since our fabrication facility is busy enough with the rest of our product line and cannot crank out the quantities necessary to meet demand. While I would love to keep everything built in-house or locally, it's just not feasible as far as supply, cost and space is concerned. We'll update the website accordingly as some portions are still unchanged from a year ago.

Best Regards,
shiv

PS. And yep, the labor strike did slow things down for a couple of weeks. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

Regardless of when the news came out the port lockout has been an ongoing problem for the past week.

Like I said earlier I'm not sticking up for Vishnu, I don't really have any vendor loyalty, and I agree that if a customer is upset about a vendor then more than likely the vendor isn't handling things in the best manner possible.

Hope everything gets to you and you get some form of compenation!

Unhappy Vishnu Sales - EMail -

What's up with Vishnu and e-mail. I sent them an e-mail on Monday (Nov 4.) and still no reply... ([email protected])

I got the e-mail from their official website too, so I know it went to the right place.

Can anyone share some info on known problems with Vishnu and their e-mail repsonses?

I like what I read about Vishnu here at i-Club and on their own website but what do they expect people to do when they can't get any answers by way of e-mail.

Sure I can call, but with e-mail it's pure and simple in writing. So I can always keep it as reference...

What do you guys think?

Hello,

Shiv and Brett are both at SEMA. I don't know if they're even open this week at all?

calling them will get you a much quicker response than emailing them. i think they get way too much email to even attempt to sort through.

yea... with i-club over 20,000 strong, im sure Vishnu will not even "attempt" to sort out their e-mail. you think they do better business by placing cable access ads?

edit:
i think i'll wait a bit longer, it's realistic to think SEMA is the reason they have not responded yet..

Thumbs down VISHNU has the crappiest service EVER!!!

Vishnu's customer service is the worst I have EVER seen since I tried to buy a link ecu from carmodifications.com, but that's a different story. I ordered my special vishnu fuel rails and 550 cc injectors at the somewhat hefty price of ~$850. This was the better part of 2 months ago...2 MONTHS AGO. Well, after calling NUMEROUS times only to be told they were waiting for a fitting, I received my package last night. Inside was everything I ordered, only...I only got 1 fuel rail. 1 FUEL RAIL...2 MONTHS and $850 got my ONE FUEL RAIL. The other was a piece of metal with vishnu scribed into it. *** is that?? 2 months and they couldn't finish my ****ing fuel rail. Maybe if I had a wrx I would've gotten some customer service and 2 fuel rails, but I don't have a wrx and obviously I got the back burner from a company that everyone claims is great. Well, I think VISHNU SUCKS. I would never order from them again and if they think I'm paying the ridiculous 20% restocking fee, then they have another thing coming.

step up to the plate and get your issue resolved with this customer.

By the looks of it, he seems really unhappy.

Same here. I ordered a stage zero with EMI adaptor and EMI harness. They had the stage zero and EMI harness in stock and sent that out after I asked where my order was. He said he was waiting for the EMI adaptors to come in and he would be sending everything else out soon. My order was placed December 4th 2002 and have yet to receive my EMI adaptor. I got emails saying they would be shipped out monday then monday rolled around and nothing came in the next couple days. Emailed again they then said they would be sent out at the end of the week. And it leads me to present day. I Emailed them after the end of the week rolled around and no email back yet. I just sent another email right before I found this to post this to the public.

All this crap from West Coast vendors makes me feel like spending full price on crap at the local performance shop. 3 months for a carbon hood that was never made till there were law suits involved and now a little EMI adaptor, from a vendor who i though was so cool and saved up so long (6 bucks an hour) to buy from and now they want to play the run around game with me too.

Hello Tony,

i'm sorry for your bad luck. i'm not really sure what happened to be honest. i ordered my stage one kit from shiv (with ecutek) and i received everything within a month (the exhaust took a little longer than everything else). i got the standard exhaust (not the signature series) and with everything installed i have to say that i am EXTREMELY pleased with craftsmanship and performance. the reflashed ECU coupled with all of shiv's parts are worth every penny i spent. i live in VA and honestly had no trouble with anything shipping-wise from shiv. the bleeder restrictor that's supposed to get installed with the stage 1 got left out of the package - understandable oversight imho. i called, talked to brett about it i think, and i got the bleeder 2 days later. i really don't know what happened with you guys. maybe since he's doing ecu reflashing now that's taking the place of the emi adapter and unichip that's why it is taking / took so long for the emi adapter. i don't know. anyway, like i said, i am very pleased and am very much looking forward to the stage 3.

i hope you have better luck in the future.
