I disagree, the offense is fine, it is great, coupled with a defense that could stop a running game, we would be in the playoffs, there is no doubt in my mind.

Run defense for the texans is not good. we have the worst run defense by far, averaging 200 yards against us every game.

ironically, we have a very average pass defense, allowing 230 yards. tied with the ravens.

the easy thing to say to this is, we let some long plays get away from us, 60 yard TD run, etc, but the bottom line, is, that all is part of the run game, and our defense is deficient.

I hope that coach can do something about this, our dline is fast and moves quickly, but we don't have any 350lb 6'6" behemoths that will scare the **** out of a 5'8" 210lb running back, and lay him out on his ass.

We have pro bowlers on our defense, 90, 59, 23, 56, and I'm sure I'm missing some numbers, but still, we have great players, and play makers, we just really need to have a cohesive defensive line to stop the damn run.

it has been our weakness since the texans were added to the league.

It's hard to imagine any team except for a few stellar exceptions, to be able to stop the run game of RB's like Tennessee's Chris Johnson (Who ran for 97 yards against the Jets yesterday!) and Maurice Jones-Drew (the Jags).

I need to see us play a team that does not have a good or great running back to run all over us to be convinced of that argument.

I just think that if they step up the running game and have the defense hold the running yards down we can be a great team, in the last two games we have had players run through empty holes.

yeah, but Johnson also ran for 197 yards against us last week. no one notices, or cares cause we won.

obviously, we did better this week.

look back at week 1. thomas jones did over 100 yards, and then averaged 35 over the last 2 games.

I mean, it is obvious they did better this week, but it is hard to see with such a bitter end. and it is obvious that the defense can continue to do better as a run defense.

Luckily for me, I was born in New Jersey (not the lucky part) and was born and raised a Giants fan. It's been a good few years to like the Giants. But like a good Houstonian, I attempt to like the Texans, I really do, but they have to be one of the most frustrating teams to watch, behind maybe the Cowboys who always seem to underachieve.

5 Superbowls and 8 appearances in the Superbowl is not enough? no other team can top those records.

Born and raised a Cowboys fan and I still find myself cheering for them. I was also a fan of the Oilers back in the day, still haven't grown a liking for the Texans.

I grew up in a die-hard Cowboys house. When I was as small as 5yrs old I picked the 49ers as MY team. Just to go against my dad. He hated Montana and Rice so much! You can imagine his anger when Young, TO, and Rice were there. I stayed a 49ers fan till I was around 18-19. Then my dad sort of convinced me to join the dark side. He bought me a TO Cowboys jersey. I just rooted for them because my family does.

When we got the Texans, I pretty much switched to the new home team. Didn't seem to make sense to not cheer for them, but it felt wrong straddling the fence between Dallas and Houston.

Now that my wife is kinda into the Texans, I can just watch the games with her and get away from the Dallas stuff nowadays....

It is hard to like the Texans. No doubt. I liked the Oilers alot too when they were here. I never understood the people that continue even to this day, cheer for the Tennessee Titans.

Come on....the owner HATED us. Bad blood anyone?

So the question is this. Are the both of you born and raised in Houston or surrounding area? Are either of you from the Dallas area?

My family is from Louisiana, I was born in Baytown.

Why my dad is a Cowboys fan, I have no idea really.. I know he has been a diehard fan since they formed. I think he and my mom are going to retire in Dallas, but that could change, who knows.

I was born and raised in the 'burbs of Houston (for the most part). My parents are both from west-Texas though, Cowboy country.

lolz... pretty much everywhere outside of Houston and the 'surrounding area' is "Cowboy Country" in Texas.

I'm from down souf a few hundred miles, it too was/is 'Cowboy Country'... grew up on 'em, still cheer for 'em even though they've done a lot to tick me off in the last decade or so. Tony D and Roger were my guys back in the day.

However, I also cheered for the Oilers when we moved to H-town... and I like the Texans now. I don't think it -has- to be one or the other. If they were to meet in a superbowl though, I'd be cheering for Dallas (even if they do eat kittens for breakfast or 'whatever...').

ps, dwight clark can still diaf...

Roger S will ALWAYS be THE quarterback. In 1981 (I lived in Dallas until 1982) I was riding around on my bike with some buddies and we ended up at Roger's house in Dallas. His son was a friend of a friend of mine. Roger drove up and talked with us for a little bit. I was starstruck at the time.
