Well there are a variety of options out there. I am assuming youi are using a 2.5 block and 2 liter heads? The biggest factor is of course the thickness. The thinner, the more complications that can occur, from higher compression, to valves touching the pistons...
Personally I have been sticking with the thicker metal NA three plys and had no problems, other than a lower compression. |

I'd recommend the oem STi head gasket. In fact, get the entire engine gasket set for an STi 2.5 engine. In addition, you'll need 2.0 valve cover gaskets and 2.0 1/2 moon gaskets (set of 4) for the 2.0 heads.
This is what I've used with my hybrid... |

Interested in this thread as well. Lower compression or stronger head gasket. Or can you have both?

the new 2.5 n/a and turbo gaskets are identical except for thickness. Although actually there are three 2.5 turbo gaskets now. The 07 and 08 sti each have their own different ones. Stick with the 06 and earlier gaskets.

the N/A 2.5l Phase 1 is 1.52mm thick C/R should be ~ 8.24:1
the N/A 2.5l Phase 2 is 0.58mm thick C/R should be ~ 8.93:1 the turbo STI 2.5l 04-06 is 0.6mm thick C/R should be ~ 8.91:1 all info taken from Matt's Compression Ratio Calculator -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com |

It was recommended to me by several engine builders and tuners to go with the OEM STi head gaskets. Yes, your compression will be a bit higher with stock pistons, but that is not a problem and can be tuned just fine.
My hybrid with CP pistons (stock CR) and OEM STi head gaskets runs great. Right now I'm running an 18g @20psi with no problems and am now looking at a dominator 3 turbo. I anticipate no issues with that either. |

Go here... Tristan can hook you up (thekingofparts - NOT associated with kingpin)
http://www.5-starperformance.com/ser...ock-%26/Detail This is what you want... They have it all packaged together. I think the only thing else you'll need are new headbolts... but that is all in the eye of the beholder. |
