Has anyone thought about re-painting the silver dash accents? Anyone know how to remove them? Had an idea to paint them (plastidip?) orange to match the car color.

Hmmm never thought about removing or painting them. They almost matched when I had a car that was ISM.

Other users, such as Reverend_, have removed them and vinyl wrapped them with carbon fiber vinyl wrap.

Just bought my first subie about a month ago and the dash accents were blue to match the cars color. I asked the previous owner how he did it and he said they just popped right out and popped right back in. If your looking to paint yours also I definitely suggest it because it looks sick

Not at all true. The drug dealers across the street are white, the ones next door are hispanic, and the ones down the street are black. The caddy I snapped a pic of was so tinted I never saw the driver. But driving that ghetto car does scream "I want to look like a dtug dealer."
Ahh this rental house I bough and am living in and fixing up is in a much less desireable area than my lakefront home. No racism stated or implied. Some cars look like drug dealer/ghetto cars and some dont. |

I've seen a few Khaki ones around here... Kinda wish they'd throw some sort of metallic brown into their color options.

There was a brown OB in the showroom when I bought my XV. I kept looking at it wondering why they didn't offer that combo.

To who was his comment discriminatory to though, those with drug dealer wheels? The truth is majority of the people who have those type of wheels tend to be black. End of conversation. If I were to say the NBA was a drug dealers sport, you wouldn't think I'm talking about Chandler Parsons, Jose Calderon, or Jermey Lin.

there are drug dealers in every race and in every country in the world.
20"+ rims make you look like a drug dealer or gangbanger wannabe. I see plenty of white folks driving goofy lifted Caprices and Crown Vics on stupidly large wheels. I said drug dealer and you fly off about blacks... who's racist? hmmm |

Yes, I'm the one that's racist against blacks.
But you are correct, there are drug dealers in every race and in every country. And there are plenty of white folks that have twenties on their car, but they are the minority and the majority of people who sport those type of wheels are black. Like I said in my previous post, if I said the NBA was a sport for drug dealers no one would think I'm talking about the white, Hispanic, or Asian players of the league. And when you decided to use that term to describe a wheel that is predominantly used by blacks, how else would I take it? But I'm done conversing with someone who is trying to justify his ignorant statement instead of being a man and admitting that he was wrong, not racist***8230; just wrong. Quote:

hey dude- I'll give respect to anyone of any color. I grew up in an ALL BLACK neighborhood. But where I am from there is no indication that large wheels are a "black thing". Youre being WAY TOO SENSITIVE and frankly I think you are trying to make something out of nothing.
I respect your position but you totally jumped the gun on pulling the racist card... |

Lets just talk about cars. I am sorry for any confusion or offense... I certainly meant no harm.

I teach my kids content of character not color of skin. That's how I think and I expect them to as well. That said, we have rescinded back years and years with race mentality. When I was young I never heard about racism much. The 80's and even early 90's I never did, but the last few years its grown out of control. That's probably by design as well. Which, frankly disgusts me. There used to be a day you could make fun of each other without offending someone else, or that person crying racism when there isn't any. If your a drug dealer, and were offended by the remarks, then fricken get over it and change your damn ways and straighten up. If your not a drug dealer, but found racism in the fact someone said drug dealer, then you yourself should look in the mirror, cause your the one being racists. It's not a color if skin thing, and Dr Carson can tell you under the dura we all look the exact same. So if everyone focused on content, and the content offends you then maybe that's good and you change your content to better yourself. Done- simple- anything else is nothing but a ploy, if you don't know what I mean, then you never will.

Its all just misunderstanding each other...
But we can all agree that we like our XV's. Or Subarus in general. I'll guarantee you plenty of dealers drive subes! |
