TGV deletes, sensors and motors?
I just did TGV deletes today and I'm getting tuned thursday. Is it okay to have the four plugs for the sensors and motors to hang free, or do they need to be plugged in to be tuned for some reason? I plan on filling them with dielectric grease and covering them up to be tucked away.

They can hang free but the car will probably be in limp mode until you get tuned. This is regardless if you put the motors/sensors in or not.

I keep hearing about the car running in limp mode, the TGV deletes are already installed and it runs fine. To make sure there was no boost leaks I hit WOT in 2nd and 3rd and it was running fine. I do have CEL's, but performance didnt go down. Thanks for the reply, you did answer my question

you can plug in the motor/sensors and have no CELS. Your tuner can shut off the CEL when you get tuned if you leave them off. I suggest taking them anyway just in case your tuner isnt smart enough to figure out how to shut off the CEL Oh and not sure what all mods you are getting tuned for but it is probably better to stay OUT of boost until tuned. And doing a WOT pull is NOT how you check for boost leaks |

Take wire cutters, chop the plugs off at the base of the harness, tape over it to make it look OEM again.
Then delete the code. /problem |

What part of "until you get tuned" did you not understand in my post? And if you plug them in before getting tuned you will have DTC's due to the position sensors not being moved.

Also if you just plug them in with nothing to limit the travel of the motors, you will get a CEL. That is why the APS kit used to come with the brackets to mount them together.
The sensor and motor have to turn together, and the same amount. Just cut the wires and delete the code. You can do that in 5 minutes without any tuning needed. |
