It's because the car is my sister's car.
I only own it 25% ...
And she lives in Austin for school and I am in Dallas.
I just love the Impreza and keep on doing "stuffs" for her.
Just like a second car that I drive 1 or 2 times a month (if she is in Dallas)

This is why I don't join TXIC cause I don't have the car w/ me.
But if any DFW I-clubs member knows, please help...

Exactly. We're having a membership special this month, too. Ladies only have to post one naked picture rather than the usual two.

God, I'm such a pig. No wonder I'm single.

I felt that that was kind of harsh, Kev..

Participation in TXIC isn't a requirement to own (or partially own) an Impreza.. or even to use I-club for some advice..

p.s. I could be misreading the tone of the post.. durn internet 'communication'..

Did you or anybody else do work on the front end recently such as brakes, alignment, etc?

I went in for an alignment recently and while the guy was retightening the strut bolt, his swivel-head socket slipped off the bolt head and went flailing about (he was using an air impact gun). The socket took out the ABS sensor in the process.

Also were the wires cut or shorted against the strut? If the wires are intact and not shorting out somewhere I fail to see how your struts/springs can cause the sensor at the end of the wire to fail.

PS -> I'm in Austin, you should have your sister stop by so I can check her out,...uhhh....I mean check her brakes!....yeah...that's the ticket.

im just observing how strange it is that people come out of nowhere when they need something fixed or want to know where to get something, never entertaining the idea of comming to our meets, or hanging out with us.

only a few people have done this... not everyone.

Next thing you're going to tell me is that in order to qualify for certain levels of TXIC 'technical support' your post count must fall into certain ranges???

hehe..

At first.. sorry for suddenly posting on TX I-C forum w/o being a member. Well I am an I-club member, I have been monitoring the other areas for months. I knew you guys had the meeting in LEwissville last month. I was going to come by but I had to drive to Austin somehow...

Let me know how to be a member.. I'll join for sure...
I will also monitor TXIC activity for another meeting in DFW area.

To answer some of the question:
I bought the car that way. (with the springs and shocks)
It was already lowered... I added other stuffs to the car afterwards.
My experience:
I have done lots works on my 95 Eclipse GST from suspension to beginner turbo mods. So I think I am pretty good

No body did any brake, allignment, etc work on the car since I bought it @ 8000K. I already checked the ABS wire last Sunday and took a picture (see my first post here) , no rubbing, no cut, no nothing.. Everything is perfect.
Actually my sister brought the car to Austin Subaru (North one) and the service advisor declined warranty...
I gotta talk to him...

This is why I post in this forum if any of you know a friend who works in Subaru dealer (the one who can understand our "mods" and willing to discuss)

BTW... I e-mailed KYB concerning this and this is the reply:
The initial production of AGX numbers 734006 and 734007 lacked the welded-on
ABS wire bracket bracket. We informed our customers of this fact and
subsequent productions of these numbers had the bracket attached. They were
informed not to sell the non-bracket numbers for vehicles w/ ABS.The parts
with the bracket have a hyphen behind the part number (ie. 734006- and
734007-).
If the struts installed did not have the bracket, the wire harnesses could
be tie wrap to the shock body with no ill affect. If they were left loose,
the wire harnes would fatigue and break.

Well let me know what's going on..
And thanks again....

Looks to me like the wire harnesses are tied to the strut, exactly like they guy from KYB said. Perhaps try a different dealer?

That's what I am thinking..
Either to talk to the service manager and explain the situation or try another dealer / servie manager..

Probably someone in Dallas knows a "good" service manager either in Central Subaru (75) or the one in Lewisville.(I-35E)

Huh... Dealer is troublesome..
This is just simple mods...

Well last time Austin Subaru (North one) was being good to my Check Engine error.. well the reason was the O2 sensor..
They did not complain about the PRM cold air intake that is installed in the car...

Well... wish me luck...

BTW. I already sent e-mail to Subarupooh to sign up for TX Subaru Owners Club...

Will try to come to the next meeting....
