Default 2009 Tiguan SE 4 motion w/ mild mods

Just a copy and paste from my craigslist ad.

For sale is our better than new white Tiguan with the Tiptronic 4-motion (all wheel drive) six speed automatic. It was purchased new from Jack Scoville VW in Eugene on 7/28/2009. As of today, it has 12,669 miles on it. This is the hot Volkswagen "crossover" SUV. It has the turbocharged engine from the GTI that makes it one quick little SUV. It has a few mild modifications to make it better than when it came off the showroom floor. It has a Carbonio carbon fiber intake and a Neuspeed rear sway bar which makes for more solid cornering without sacrificing ride quality, as well as an Autotech motor mount insert to reduce engine movement. Also installed is an APR chip with four different available settings (stock, 91 octane, 93 octane and anti-theft). I have never run any of them except the 91 octane map, which gives better performance and gas mileage (my wife regularly gets 29 mpg).

It has also had Vag-Com modifications done to make things more convenient. If you don't know what the vag-com mods are, it allows for some of the convenience items that are "deleted" from this level of trim as well as some other items available in the electronics. For example, it unlocks all four doors with one push of the key fob, when you pull the key from the ignition it unlocks all four doors and you can open and shut the sunroof and all four windows from the key fob. It also has the daytime running lights disabled and a European headlight switch installed to allow full functionality of the headlights, foglights and city lights. I installed the intake myself, but the other items were installed at Futrell Autowerks in Beaverton, Or.

This Tig also has all weather mats along with the standard carpet mats. It has a Gorilla Cargo rear mat system. It also has one huge (panoramic) sunroof. There is also a sunshade that covers the sunroof and retracts, but can also be closed to keep the sun out when the sunroof is open...pretty cool. It also comes with a 3 yr. / 36k mile maintenance program (oil changes, etc. by the dealer) and warranty. The Tig is also has a six disc stereo and is set up for satellite radio (not currently subscribed to).

This is primarily my wife's car and we both love it. It has great performance for me and she loves the comfort level (oh ya, heated seats), safety and overall quality of the car. We have a 3 yr. old, and getting him in and out is super easy....he loves the Tig too, that huge sunroof is a never ending source of entertainment. We looked at all of the vehicles in this class and it came down to this or the Toyota Rav-4 Sport. I must say that the Tig is much nicer on the inside, the fit and finish is great and just seemed better appointed than any of the other small SUV's that we looked at (it even has heated windshield washer nozzles!). It also performs better and you really don't see many of them around, which is a plus in my book. It is also a very safe car with with front and side airbags as well as side curtain air bags and traction control.

Why are we selling this car if it's so great? Well, my wife and I (and kid), have this crazy dream to buy a sailboat and go cruise the Caribbean. So in order to make that happen, we need to start shedding some belongings and this one of them.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to call or e-mail.. Price is 25,000.00 OBO. Kelley Blue Book 'Private Party' on this car with none of the extras is 25,850.00.
