IMPREZAmike,

There are two guys here that took photos of the Euro spec Impreza that was here in NJ. It's a LHD version of what the Brits are driving - lucky blokes - 218hp as a basic to build up from. They even got a chance to drive it. They mentioned something about a limited version of this car being released but they did say it was NOT confirmed. The car was silverthorn metallic, 4 doors and had headlight wipers. Otherwise, it looked no different than our cars.

I'm still hoping for it to be true. August is just around the corner and they can easily ship the Euro spec car from mainland Europe(LHD) in limited numbers.

Hey Ken in "jolly ole England"

My post was also in good fun. Some of us though are quite curious to know how the British Spitfire fighter plane ran long enough to get in the air and actually shoot down a few German Messerschmitt BF109s.

Ok! Ok! No more jabs at English engineering. I promise.

American beer? I agree with you. Most American beer absolutely sucks. Theres nothing like an imperial pint of English Bitter. And I do miss the traditional English breakfast, bangers and mash, and so on.....but jellied eel?? How did that come about?

American car quality has come a long way since the late 80s. Hell, we didn't even like our own cars. The late 70s through the late 80s was a terrible time for the American car industry. Real horrid stuff I must say.

At least we have two common interests: Impreza and good beer. That's all that matters.

SNOOPY,

that sounds like exactly the same car that Subaru R&D has here in Ann Arbor. (Its still sitting in their parking lot, I was there on Friday)

Looks like a silver MY00 4dr, only with the coupe wing, twin exhaust outlet pipes, and the bigger brakes. oh, and P205/50R16 RE030 Tyres.

Im still, trying to get another ride, maybe even a drive.

also -IT's NOT a WRX. just a plain ole turbo.

Cool

Just talked to the "New Tuner" again...I will have UPRD slips for his results at the end of the month (just to wet your appetite).
The Sube was built with all proprietary parts
so all the "tuners" worldwide will have to take notice.
I am so happy that this tuner is on the little guys side and we won't have to sell our homes to buy parts, although there will be some things that are still expensive.
No, I do not work for this tuner (although it would be fun, especially when they go public), its just hard for me to keep a secret. I will tell all I can, when I can:-)

Have a Nice Day?

Ok guys, i'm pretty sure who this "mega" tuner is. Ravent kinda let the cat out of the bag with "will have UPRD slips...". Those of you who said Mr. Millen win a cookie. Rod Millen conspires frequently with Under Pressure Research and Development and has apparently been dabbling in some Rally events. Anyone remember him racing the stock Lexus RX300 at the Vegas(?) rally? And doing really well? Also UPRD sponsors his 800hp Drag Supra.

I could be wrong however i'm going to bet against the odds on that one. I guess we'll see huh?

No...Not Millen, UPRD has the ONLY 4wd Dyno that the public has access to, but on the 28,29,30th of june this tuner will be testing in socal (location to be designated)and has invited the "I-Board" to come and see...bring your membership cards;-) I will post the time and location as soon as I am told. Don't wait till the Maine rally, come see this for yourself next week. Watch this thread for further info.

Hey Ravent,

Somewhat off topic I suppose, but UPRD no longer has the "only" public four wheel dyno. Altered Atmosphere Motorsports in the Maryland/DC area now has a four wheel Dyno (Dynojet), and it is available to the public for tuning purposes, spoke to them a few days ago....Just an FYI

Ryan Plum,

I didn't say it was the WRX - but compared to our 2.5 RS, it sure looks that way to me.

Were you the one who took the pics of the Turbo Impreza?

Ravent - email me when you get a chance.

As for AWDdynos, Altered Atmosphere is not a true AWD dyno like UPRD has....I was over at Craig Pailey's the other ay (my tuner has been buddies with him for awhile), who owns the 800+ drag Supra someone referred to earlier, and he confirmed that Altered's dyno is a far cry from a quality tuning tool. However, he said there are about 8 AWD dyno's from NY to PA, and I am awaiting the list with some #'s. These are all top end race shops, and simply cater to a whole diferet crowd (ie not the public, but their own racing programs). Again, I'll try to get details ASAP.
