Default the official crappiest car you've owned thread

inspired by that 17 year old complaining about kids. whats the crappiest car youve ever owned? i'm gonna lost this one but i had a 2000 chevy s10. it was really not that bad of a car, the ac worked, it had 4 wheel drive, it was clean, but man did that car break one thing after another. in high school my "best friend" stole it and tore the stereo out of it and then took a sledge hammer to the side of the car a couple times and left it at the mall. of course he had to brag to his other friends and it got back to me. he got in a lot of trouble because not only did he steal a car but he also stole my parents laptop which had our tax returns on it which constitutes ID theft. there was no pre trial confinement and i had great insurance. he stayed out of jail just long enough to see me pull into the school parking lot with my brand new 2004 wrx. my parents contribution? a viper alarm . i got out of the car. looked at him, and armed the alarm

anyway. what crap cars have you had and what are some funny/sad things theyve done to betray you?

1985 GL turbo. It hydrolocked itself after hte headgasket blew, I was on my way home after fililng it was gasoline. I was going to drive it 5 hours the next day to sell it (LOL). Instead, I had it crushed, and as the tow truck backed up to hook up to it, the driver side window fell down into the door and shattered. And, for the record, it was a second car, my primary car at that time was a 1998 LGT wagon.

2000 Camry. Worked fine BUT:

Exhaust broken. Made a lot of noise.
Front passenger window broken. Rolled down, not up. Had to use hands to lift it.
Cat smell. Yes, cats pooped in the car. Go back to your mansion you prick.
Back indicator light. All the back lights worked fine but a dash light constantly warned that a back light was broken. Damnit all.
Gas door. Yes the door. The spring fell off after I forgot to close it once. Lately my GF held down the open lever while I pried it open, or I did it myself by wedging something under the lever. I was so embarrassed about it I never got gas in NJ where they don't know how gas works. Everyone from NJ sucks.

Good news: Just sold it for $2700 with dents and 147k miles on it.
Better news: I am drunk; take it easy guidos.

1991 Plymouth Sundance, it was free (cousin gave it to me) so I can't complain about it lasting only 2 months

I would love to say it was my 86 Opel Kadet, but that was actually a decent car.

1987 Dodge Raider. It was awesome, but crappy. It was essentially a 2-door Montero. But it could climb ANYTHING, and both front seats folded forward in such a way that, when necessary, the back seat had a LOOOOT of room

from 12-04 to 1-06 we put about 12k miles (55-67k)

It had:

New alternator
New starter
Timesert in the upper motor mount holes in the head mount
front motor mount
new rod bearings

I seriously doubt I will own another GM Saab

You never value that feature until you finally find yourself in that situation.

My first car was a Civic Si that was just an all-around POS. It burned oil, had toasted synchros, leaked coolant, bad rust on the roof/hood (typical of black Hondas), attracted attention from ricers/thieves everywhere I went, etc, etc.

In contrast, every subie/truck I've owned has been beaten like a woman on daily basis, and taken it just fine.

1st car was an 87 Buick Skyhawk, my Dad bought it for about $500. I couldnt afford insurance when I first got my license but the parents let me take the car out in the very small town I live in just to "stay warm" in the winter. <<mistake

Of course I drove it all over the place, had a minor accident on some ice, then about a month later the heater core went and I overheated and consequently blew the engine trying to make it home. --live and learn.

....mmmmmmmm....lesse here

ive had a couple....but I bought a lime green 1972 Fraud LTD for $400 for a work beater...I was scabbin at a local manufacturing plant and the picketers wernt being kind to cars pullin into the parkin lot

that car ran great and took the abuse with aplomb and on the last day there, when the strike was settled, I came out to find it on 4 flat tires...about 1/2 the cars there had been vandalized....
It had about 2 gallons of gas and a bunch of empty beer cans in it and so I took the tags off and left it sitting there and caught a ride home with another guy....

dunno how long it sat there, rusting, in the parking lot but I drove past about 2 months later and it was still there

1984 Dodge Aries K. Yes, a 'k car'. Unless someone says pinto, that is pretty much the worst. Roughly 90 horse/110 ft/lb torque, 2800 pounds of front wheel drive speedster! 0 to 60 times where somewhere around 15 to 20 seconds, depending how big of a hill and how much tailwind.

Yeah not the worst car, it was fun having rwd, but not with only around 60hp at the wheels.

Bought it for $700 sold it for $800 after I got some use out of it.

A couple of months ago I had a 1998 Mazda Millenia. After a few weeks of owning it, the car overheated. It needed a new rad, water pump and thermostat. Burned about a qt every 1000 miles. CV boot was ****ed. I was offroading in it one time and I crash landed on the tranny pan. I got that fixed but the car never shifted the same afterwards. I sold it after my subaru got here.

95 saturn sl2. The whole thing was pretty much a p.o.s. The sunroof leaked so bad, after a good rain storm there would be 2" of standing water inside.
