VTR 4th annual food drive!!!
VTR's Annual Holiday food drive starts Oct 2nd!
Here are the rules: Each forum will be given a designated area for there donations. On November 16th the Friday before Thanksgiving we will transport all of the donations to the Everett VOA for the weigh in. The forum with the most donations gets on the perpetual plaque in our showroom. Last year the Subaru forums won. The LX forums have the two years before that. Who will it be this year? Time to get organized and show that your crew understands how important community involvement is. If you know someone who hasn't been working, or has had to take a job with less pay. You should be donating. Recommended items: Canned foods Dry food anything non-perishalble Here are some other items recommended on the VOA website. Baby essentials, including diapers, baby wipes and formula School supplies and backpacks, leading into school Summer camp equipment and supplies Holiday toy and gift drive Shoes and boots - anytime! Household and laundry cleaners, toiletries and feminine personal hygiene products In the last three years this food drive has donated over 7000lbs of food to the food bank. Time to dig deep and help those less fortunate than us. There is a forum (LX) that has already scheduled an opening event to get started. I suggest someone here do the same. Thanks Wayne

I know you put shoes on there, but what about general clothing donations as long as there not all torn up? I got two big rubbermaid bins filled with stuff I was going to bring to goodwill.

We don't do clothing for the food drive, but I'm sure they would appreciate it if you dropped it off at the VOA!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our 4th annual food drive BBQ kickoff.
Here are the latest results for the drive; these donations include cash to food converted at $1 = 6 lbs of food. The VOA is that efficient in getting the best bang for the buck! -Subaru 707 lbs -LX 133 lbs - Evo 97 lbs -Camaro 84 lbs Total - 1021 lbs This is a great start! The goal is to get at least 4,000 lbs by Nov. 16th. Keep the cash and food donations coming! |

Food Drive Update
We are off to a strong start this morning. Camaros got an additional 60 lbs and Subarus followed it with 240 lbs which brings the total to 2359! We are really hoping to get to 3000 by end of business today. That basically amounts to 15 people donating $8 each.
Camaro 144 Evo 277 LX 638 Subaru 1300 Thanks to everyone who has participated so far. Spread the word so we can keep the donations coming! |

Almost 3,000 lbs!
The food drive is still going strong! We are currently at 2,872 and would love to get to 3,000 lbs. by the close of business tomorrow. All that would take is a donation of $22!
Tally per forum is: Subaru 1510 lbs LX 941 lbs Evo 277 lbs Camaro 144 lbs The ultimate goal is 4,000 and the food drive ends Nov. 16th. Keep in mind that this drive is in the top 3% of all food drives for the Everett Volunteers of America Food Bank so a lot of people are really relying on us hitting our goal. Thank you for all your generous contributions and help us spread the word about this! |

Crushed the weekend goal!
The competition between the forums has really kicked into high gear today. Food and money was donated today bringing the total to 3,653! Not only did that exceed our 3,000 lb weekend goal, it means we need just 347 lbs to reach the 4,000 lb goal.
The Everett Volunteers of America folks have been closely watching the progress of this food drive and will be excited to see the numbers on Monday. This food drive is in the top 3% of ALL food drives done for this food bank and I know they are really excited and thankful for how much participation we have received this year! If you have not had a chance to make a donation, you still have time. We are accepting donations through Nov. 16th. Thanks!! |

This is awesome. Everyone who has the means to throw some money at this should. Everyone should be able to spare at least $5 or $10 for people less fortunate. If you're coming to the Seattle meet next week should bring some food/cash for the cause.

4265 lbs!
We are excited to announce that we have exceeded our goal for our food drive and we still have 10 more days to go! Today Ruth came in and dropped enough cash to get an additional 600 lbs for Evo! Thanks Ruth!
Currently we are at 4265 lbs. The breakdown is: Subaru 1570 Evo 1525 LX 1026 Camaro 144 To keep things moving and to ensure that we collect the most food/pounds possible while not making this about the biggest paycheck, we will stop posting the breakdown by forum after Wed. Nov. 14th. We will stop taking collections at 3 p.m. Nov. 16th as we need time to do a final weigh-in for any last minute donations and we have to get everything loaded and down to the VOA by 4. Given the momentum that we currently have we are really confident that we can hit 5000 lbs this year! Talk about big bragging rights! Thank you!!!! |

I brought a couple of boxes full of stuff before but i have a little money to donate as well.
Ot and feel free to delete if needed but I believe someone asked about coats, if you are interested in donating coats a friend of mine is running a coat drive. It won't add to the amazing vtr totals but if you want them out of the house I'd be happy to play middleman. |
