P0320 code on 04 WRX with swapped JDM V7
I'm getting the P0320 code on my 04 WRX. There is no CEL but the code is there. The car drives fine, or at least like it always has with this engine which is 13 months/13,xxx miles. There has been a CEL that will flash once when the engine is at high RPM's, such as 5K+, and I'm let off the throttle or just reving the engine. It never comes on with load. The past two days I have not seen the CEL flash, but the code is still there. I don't know if they're related or not. When the CEL did come on it only flashes once then stops. It did not blink like there was a constant misfire. The engine sometimes does take a couple extra cranks to start, and other times it just fires up instantly. It does always start though.
2004 WRX Version 7 STI JDM engine with wiring harness for AVCS and the JDM ECU SPT intake (Yes this was tuned for) 1000cc injectors Catless down pipe + magnaflow exhaust Tune was down when the swap was done I've searched both the forums and google and haven't found much. In the forums I've seen more typo's of a misfire code P0302 then info for the code I'm actually getting, P0320. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Do you have a lightweight flywheel? Also check the connector on the cam sensor by the Turbo it may be corroded.

I would check most into the cam and crank sensors for your issue. Especially Sinse you have an extended crank while starting the car

I do have a lightweight flywheel but this isn't a misfire code and I don't believe my flywheel is light enough to cause those codes.

How are you monitoring the health of your motor?

The cause of this turned out to be that the timing was off by one tooth on the drivers side intake cam. Set the timing properly and all the symptoms went away.
