xdrian really excited to see some final plots after jr further works his magic and also some track footage!!

I was recently at the domestics and imports race at MIR. I was REALLY disappointed in not seeing even one subie out there. Next year you should make it down!

Can you please go into this issue you are talking about further?

Could you or jr. please chime in on this issue akuma is talking about with the AEM v1 ecu's AVCS tuning issue ? 1st is the 04 sti ecu, then 05-06 sti ecu, last is ron's drag wrx with most likely no avcs

Reason I'm asking is I just picked up 3 of these unit's (used for $500 each) for our 3 high hp cars, & 2 of 3 of them are planning to continue using avcs.

AVCS with the AEM v1 is erratic and must be calibrated and monitored religiously. Don't try and get greedy with AVCS on high lift cams with the v1 or you will end up with bent valves.

Is there anything that can be done to avoid the tuning issue. I've tried to research, only thing I could find is to not put the box on the metal floor in the stock location, and something about the unit not picking up cam/crank signals correctly with larger cams

I bought the unit from b.r.e.d. , & I'm having my motor built with mike keegan, who's also claying the heads so I can know exact piston to valve clearance to safely tell me how much avcs to run, so if there's no way to use the aem v1 ecu with a good amount of avcs, I guess Ill have to ditch it for the old AP or tactrix again

this thread mentions with larger cams has problems: http://www.igotasti.com/vBforum/show...ce-review-quot
one thread not too much info was given : http://forum.aempower.com/forum/index.php?topic=26722.0

Shame about the pump guys. hopefully all goes well Monday!

I had the AEM and at 5500-6000rpm it would misfire bigtime. i ended up filing the cam sensors and grounding each coilpack to the battery.
This solved some issues, but then my mate blew his motor a few weeks later with the same ecu and so i switched to vipec

All we care about!! Trying to get some tires to see what it does.
510-530whp last time got us 134mph traps. I am just worried we will run out of gearing and be shifting 5th. It should trap well into the 150s
