Default Stage 4, 1/4 mile times

I finally made the trip to a 1/4 mile track. I only made one run because my engine was already hot and there was a pretty good line in the staging lanes. So I decided to quit while I was ahead.

My mods are an off the shelf Stage 4 Unichip program, VF30, catless, upgrade TMIC, with Turboxs hpmbc set at 18 psi boost.
Ran pumped gas which is 93 octane in FL.

R/T - .993
60' - 1.856
330 - 5.381
1/8 - 8.228
MPH - 87.25
1000 - 10.697
1/4 - 12.770
MPH - 108.64

I feel happy with that time. I know I could probably pull at 12.5-12.6 with a better launch. I completely smoked the clutch on the launch. I don't know what happened. It was ugly.
It was my first time down this track with my stage 4 setup and didn't know what to expect. I think it freaked me out a little.

Great times! Get that launch down just a bit, and you might see 12.4-12.5 with that trap speed.

It's nice to see our stage4 guys running 108mph on fairly low boost and pump gas.

I've got the TXS stg 4 also and will be racing tomorrow. I'm hoping for a mid 12. i gotta beat my buddies time of 12.8 in a JDM CRX. also i've been getting some detonation at only 16 pounds of boost? I don't know why. I'll put in some 93 octane and see how that goes. Hopefully it will settle down.

If you have a UTEC it was tuned for 93. Then again if you have a UTEC, you can tune it for anything you want.

Thanks,
I over revved coming off the line. I got way to much wheel spin. I also got a little out of the groove too. I had to make a small correction to keep going straight. I know that had to of cost me a tenth or so.
I was also running 17'' Prodrives (22lbs each).

I remember now.

If you are still getting detonation on 93 octane, you need to send it back... did you have other intake or exhaust modifications?

WOW... there is at least 1-2mph right there... The 17inch prodrive wheels are VERY heavy.

That is a very nice time considering the wheels!

It seemed to calm down today, but i'll listen some more tomorrow at the track. If it is audible i'm not gonna run. I'll call ya monday with the scoop if it's still doin it. The strange thing is the ECU feels like it is pulling timing between 5k-6500 then it advances back to normal and pulls like a sombitch. Well wish me luck at the track tomorrow i'll be running sport compact power adders quick 8 hopefully!

Wow, great run on pump gas! 108 is really moving and if you can put the rest together, you can run a 12.5...

I'm glad you finally made it to the 1/4 mile track because I knew you would run well.

Congrats,
Phil

Thanks, I wish I would have nailed the launch. 1.85 ,60' time isn't to good for me. I'm running some pretty worn down nittos on my car that don't grip at all.
I hope to run my car again one weekend in the future. We can race all winter down here. I would love to run 12.4, like you did with the Stage 4 setup. I belive its possilbe with a 1.7x launch.

Also keep us posted on any new Turbo setups for the WRX. Still hoping for a 11sec WRX - without NOS.

I had the P-7's( 17's with Sumitomos) and they dropped my mph in the 1/4 by 3 miles versus that of my stock wheels. Your rex is a beast !!! Put the stock wheels back on. Nice run. Thanks Michael

I feel like the car has more. I added some sunoco 108 octane and it quit detonating and that run was on only 17.5ish pounds. i think at around 20-21 it'll go 12.0-12.3

Here's a little trinket i beat a twin turbo 911 carrera gt porsche on the interstate. What does that say about the STG 4 kit? the guy was like " why is a 20k car beating mu quarter million dollar exotic?"

Yes there is, you just have to get your tuning correct. His Unichip may not be setup 100% right...

With a UTEC it's easy.

Great run!
If wish I would have pulled a 1.76 60' time. We had almost identical runs except you got a better launch.
What mods do you have in addition to the Stage 4 setup.

I have Turboxs TMIC - thats my only mod outside the Stage 4 setup. I want to get some headers but they cost so much money.

Again great run and I love the part about the Porsche Kill
