Default My Order

My order couldn't be placed because there is now a wait period before you can order 14's :/ the dealerships are supposed to call me as soon as they know.

What I would like to order:
The same as poster above! What price did you agree on op?

Keep us informed when you get that call. My biggest worry is that my order will be cancelled as the new model year comes out. And not reordered

Thank you for contacting Subaru of America, Inc.

We appreciate you taking the time to inquire with us regarding the 2014 WRX orders. I would recommend that you check back with us during the month of September.

We look forward to hearing back from you!

I emailed my sales woman last night asking for a VON from my order back in april, and received a reply promptly this morning stating they wont have a VON until the order is fulfilled. I'm not going to argue with them as i'm most likely going to be getting a 2014 anyways. so I know the wait is large!

I'm only guessing here, but since your order was made in April, the actual order hasn't taken place. VON's (vehicle order number) are produced when the sales person sends the order to subaru. Once subaru opens orders for the 2014's, your sales person will submit your order and then you should promptly receive your VON. I would love to know the number of orders submitted during that first week after subaru opens the orders for the 2014's. I would imagine it to be like a flood gate opening.

The order has actually been placed so Ive been told. My sales woman is for some reason very insistant that my order will be filled in June. She said worst case is that I get a 2014 in August. This is Van Bortel in Rochester NY. They are #3 in the nation in sales, so I have to believe they know a little bit about the process. Who knows!?

You guys sure you don't want to try to snag one of the unallocated 2013 WRX's or STI's going to dealerships? Just look for the In Transit vehicles for the dealers around your area on Subaru's site. You might not get as good of a discount but it is still worth it for the shorter wait in my opinion (but I had no choice since I needed a car asap and they already stopped taking orders). My wait is going to be about a month and I caught it right when it showed up in the inventory.

At least in Chicagoland area dealers charge a premium for on the lot cars. Was able to get excellent pricing with factory order, saving ~$1k+. Now that I've waited 8 weeks I almost wish I just dropped the extra cash but I have been able to justify more mods with that extra cash

Edit: all the dealers have shown updated inventory recently 5/6 cars per dealership in transit

That's not true, none of them are charging a premium unless you get suckered into their "these cars go for over msrp" sell. No dealer is going to let you walk if you are at or even a few hundred under msrp, especially that salesman. Your particular dealer included also.

#6 actually. Not sure how they do it since they are in one of the independant zones, but if you ordered from us before the cutoff date, there IS a VON. If you didn't, then they are waiting till the 14 ordering.

With what Japan is doing with the Yen, the 2014 could be substantially cheaper. They're devaluing their currency with a massive influx of cash. This makes everything in Japan cheaper to the world economy. Subaru might not pass those savings on to consumers, but they're either going to make a lot more money on them, or they'll be cheaper.

No, not officially but you might be able give your order info to the salesman so they can order as soon as it opens up if they are willing to do that. I would probably just monitor this site to see when ordering starts and just go to the dealer just in case they would forget. So this thread was started prematurely.

Alright so now I am beyond interested in herding everything you can tell me! Do sales rankings have anything to do with allotment, meaning I I ordered a car from a #6 and someone from a # 400 orders the exact car. Will the #6 receive the car first if the orders came in at the same time? (Don't kill my hope man!) Lol. If they receive cars from a different port does that mean the selection of cars for allotments are drastically lower, same, Or who cares? Haha. I'm sure others want to know as well.

I couldn't really give you a definite answer to that. Yes, sales volume has something to do with allocation. WRX(which includes STI) sales also account for that. Though they have sold over 3 times as many cars, they have only sold a little over twice the WRXs as us. Since they are in the independent, I really couldn't begin to speculate how they get their cars. Sorry.

I had initially ordered a 2013 on March 28th, but when I called the dealership a few days back to get an update, I was told "They bumped it to a 2014, so it'll be a few more later than we told you."

Kinda pissed about it, but not like I can go to another dealership and pick up a 2013 WRX Limited in my area (Detroit). There are none, and haven't been in a while.

I'm sure the dealers with the higher volumes will have a better chance at coming in earlier since they will probably have more frequent or larger deliveries unless they got too many orders and are backing themselves up. But there are a lot of factors involved like logistics and location so it's hard to say. I noticed that many of the east and west coast states have plenty of wrx's and sti's available on the lot. Don't know if it because they get more since they're closer to port, not selling many, or they get more because they're selling more. Maybe it's a combination.

I ordered a 2014 PBP STI 5D on 5/16. ~$2,500 under MSRP, which equates to $345 under dealer invoice when you include the admin type fees I negotiated for them to take care of. No ETA (obviously) and no VON as of yet. I'll probably give them another week then email for some info.

I've waited over 5 years... what's another few months?

Your dealer will not be able to order your car until Subaru opens up ordering. Basically they are pre-ordering it and will put an order in when they are able. This is why they had no VON for you I would imagine.
