Power window problem
Hello,
My 02 Wrx is giving me Drivers power window problems. I read somewhere that sometimes the bolts for the motor pull threw the sheet metal of the door and window falls in the door. I checked that and the were starting to pull threw so i put some washers there for more surface area. The problem is that when i hit the auto down for the window, it goes all the way down but the motor does not shut off, it starts making a horrible clicking noise. is this a bad switch?? can i disconnect the auto feature of the button? Thanks for the Help Jim |

The driver window circuit uses a current sensor circuit that senses the extra current that is drawn as the motor stalls when the window hits the stop. That turns off the power. If it does not, you probably have the window misaligned. There's no real easy way to disconnect the auto down circuit, without getting into the main power window switch and disconnecting the auto down relay. See the diagram of the switch in the Service manual, volume 8, page GW-2.
