Default VA Motorsports/Richmond Drag Thread

I thought it would be cool to start a thread for people to post on whenever they're about to head out to the strip.

Richmond Dragway Schedule
VA Motorsports Schedule

So if you're making a trip to lay down some times and interested in saying hi to other subie enthusiasts I suggest you post the date you plan on attending, your name and car specs (year, color, etc).

I'll be at VA Motorsports Park tonight (4/3/09) in my SWP 07 STI trying to finally break into the 12's! My name is obviously Steve

Hope to see some other subies out there!

You do know that the AED ET points tonight are a money race/bracket racing and not the Friday Night Street night?

Thanks Blackfang. I found that out the hard way
Had a good group of guys too...GT30R evo, turbo E36 M3, my STI and a pretty badass firebird. Oh well, always next week!

Gsk3rd you should come out! That would be great to get a whole VA Nasioc group out there to dominate the track!

blackfang not sure if I saw you or night. Pretty weak turn out and an even weaker carshow. I guess that's what you get when you throw a carshow in Sandston

Did you see me?

Coming back from a pass.

I was parked with the dark colored WS6 with MITMOUS on the plates and a blue Trans Am that had N2OWNED on the plates right as you enter the staging lanes on the left.

Were you the White STI running 13.1's?

Yeah lol I ran 13.18 3 times in a row and a 13.14. My 5th pass resulted in a slipping clutch off the launch so I threw in the towel. Was really hoping for another 12.9x pass like I ran last time I was out but my car was trapping a little lower than usual.

My other friends there were a silver Evo VIII (who broke his transmission that night) and a blue E36 M3 with a turbo running low 13's at 109. I also had a friend of mine enter his blue 2.5rs in the car show.

Did you see the grey porsche turbo? That guy didnt even have traction in 3rd gear. Pretty nuts considering his car is awd. He told me it was making over 600awhp with stock turbos.

That porsche also runs 9's at a better track(MIR). My buddy had a few decent runs with his Trans Am and made a few 9.7's and 9.8's on low boost

He ran everything from 12.2-16.5 that night. I looked at one of his slips and it was a 13.x @ 119mph.

That porsche runs 9's??! That's incredible. Sucks he couldnt get out the hole, I would have loved to just see a 11 sec pass out of it. Maybe next time he'll avoid the waterbox or perhaps bring some better tires.

Your friend in the Trans Am was crusing for sure. Very fast car. I wonder what he runs on "high boost"?

There was also a blue n/a legacy that was having issues getting out of the hole. I spoke with him and gave him some tips on launching but I don't think he went again. I was also hoping to see some good times out of that wrx wagon with the massive FMIC but he seemed stuck in the high 14's low 15's

8.7x@150-153 mph All this done on a 295/45/17 Drag Radial.

Yeah he is on LGT.com. The silver wagon was trying to break 13's but his best was a 14.1 iirc. I was talking to the old owner who was there with him.

With the season getting ready to start we need to get a crew going to these Friday nights at the Richmond Drag. The link below has the 2012 tentative schedule.
