Default Winter Mode - Who's ready?

It's a little early but Winter Mode is right around the corner. Time for that delicious pumpkin pie latte as I stand posing by my car on a busy Robson street Friday afternoon. Or... maybe not but it's time for Winter soon and I was in a desperate search for 17 BBS STi rims and a nice set of winter tires. I couldn't find what I was exactly looking for. So here's the kicker. My car had it's handbrake over tightened a few days ago and I ended up getting towed to Specialty Subaru. Well Specialty Subaru had a brand new, never mounted, 17" STi BBS rim set mounted on Hankook winter tires. So I bit the bullet. I bought them and got them mounted on the spot.

So I started texting the Slurrey Crew and I got a text message back from Amar. I am an idiot, yes I am I did not buy STi BBS rims, no no, instead without me even having a clue what I bought, I got 2007 STi limited edition Enkei rims. Now I feel like crap using them for Winter Mode. So... Who's READY for Winter Mode? Because I am and I can't wait.

My car went in the body shop this morning for some repairs to my rear bumper. My aftermarket exhaust I had (T1R) melted a large hole on each side So... this is my rental car: I'm sorry SUBARU.

I used those same rims in gold for 2 winters their great. I wouldn't worry about the BBS vs enkei crap unless you find yourself running into curbs a lot.

Hell yea winter mode! I want that sticker too!

I just ordered my rally armor mudflaps from rally sport direct yesterday, and I already have 4 18" snowies waiting to be mounted up.

Also I will be buying a roof rack soon for shredding the pow pow up at cypress!

You Subaru guys amuse me, I'm debating Duratrac's or Silent Armour's ,(Both have the snowflake symbol) in the 33" tall variety, not sure if I'll get them for my 17's or 18's. Picking up detailing supplies this weekend to get a good coat of wax done before winter.

I'll put this here....

Quadratrac2 is pretty amazing.

Silent armours are sweet, you don't really lose fuel mileage, and they're great in severe conditions. i had a 2008 GC Diesel with 32's, silent armours while I was living in Kamloops driving back and forth from van every weekend regardless of weather.

I got a 2008 4runner now with a 3" lift and 32's yokohama geolander ATS. those are pretty good tires as well, but no snow flake. However I don't notice a difference in severe snow between the geolanders and silent armours. Geolanders are about 20% cheaper than the silent armors.

Default Super stoked for this winter!

As the title says I am super stoked for winter. Can't wait for Cypress to open! I am going to be on afternoon shifts all winter (Nov-~end of March) so I get to head to the mountain for morning pow. Yay Cypress Silver pass. Also can't wait to try out their new Katal Landing Pad. If you don't know what it is, I suggest Googl(e?)ing it. It looks pretty bad ass.
My next mods/snowboarding gear this winter is a roof rack and winter tires.
Speaking of, anyone have any recommendations for winter tires (16", $500-700 budget) and roof racks?
This is going to be my second winter with the sube and first with winter tires. One of the main reasons I bought a sube was for the winters and going to the mountain. AWD and winter tires=

How much were they each? So this is just some generic sticker from Auto World?
