I was looking at picking up a sigma 18-70 something or another, it has a ƒ of 2.8-4 I think it was. it's like 360. Then once I'm able to I want to get the canon one that's similar but that one will be a while seeing as it's 1400, lol.... I don't exactly have lots of cash hanging around. Later on I'll worry about a good telephoto zoom type. although I'd love one as soon as I get the camera affording it is another problem.... lol. Again thanks for the ideas on this, I'm working to get things to a whole new level with the shooting I do.

For his photo would it have been better to do 3 exposures? one for the car, then mountains then the sky? Would that have led it to be a blend you would think would have had a better flow? |

Just wanted to know what people think of my photo taking abilities, just got into it last summer after my friends asked me to take pictures of their cars with my dslr. Open to suggestions for further improvement. Just a few pics of my buddies STI.

also the same goes for hatch backs... shower rod FTW. in a pickup just take the tailgate off, that way you can get down and low on the shots. only problem with trucks is the stiffer rear suspension so you may need to consider better road choices. The next alternative would be a rig shot but the suction mounts an get rather expensive!!!!! easily 150-250 each. |

this thread is going off today i wanted to practice my layer masks and merging of photos. heres an example i wanted to share to see if theres any progress. i feel i blended better on this one, and it doesnt look unrealistic. 2 exposures. one for sky, and one for car. also remembered not to over do it with the unsharp mask

also you don't really have to go at highway speeds... just lower the shutter and make it look like you were... lol. Actually, I just thought of a perfect road near me to do this on. it's in the back of a development that pretty much no one lives on. I think once the new cam shows up that will be where I will start some good stuff at. |

Thanks for the advice, still trying to figure out all the different things on Photoshop and what not. Can't really do the pickup truck or trunk idea, as the OPP patrol those highways and take those kinds of things very seriously. Good ides though, good for deserted roads. I believe that the shots that were taken by me were at 1/60 at about 150KM/H, sorry not into the MP/H and to lazy to convert but i'm guessing maybe 80MP/H, not sure though.

I should also note that whenever I post photos, I always post the Original version, that does not undergo any of SmugMug's sharpening or resizing algorithms. Since SmugMug uses the original for prints, the originals always look exactly how they looked in Photoshop.

I'm not too sure what I can do about the car being a little off, I guess it's just something to look out for. But I did fix the blown out roof. =) Any better |

I like the shot, but I would like to see more detail in the tires for some reason and also what is that smudge on the top right? Is that part of the shot or a really bad job of cloning something?
Also, what do you think about this shot Armin? I used a couple lit frames for the car and merged it with the rig shot.. does it look unrealistic? |

I have a quick question for you guys... so, this guy stole my picture I posted here earlier, edited it badly, and is now using it on his website (http://www.awdsome.com/ca/Shop.html). My brother found out about it and contacted him (my bro's the one in the picture and that's his car), so the guy's sending him some free stuff. My question is... who's got more right to the picture? My brother or the person taking it (me)? Another question, if somebody wants to use your work on their website for whatever reason, do you contact the person in the picture for additional approval? Thanks.
