I was happy with my light output too before I had my retrofitted my car with HID projectors, now I can never go back to halogen reflectors, they're so dingy and dim. Plus a nice set of HID projectors surely gets heads turning when you drive by.

It won't fit. They bolt on to the side skirt . And the side skirt is bolted on to the body of the car.

If I had the cajones I would try the retrofit it myself. I am hoping that there will be aftermarket headlights at some point.

I hope this saves you all some money
If you only knew how much that net price is marked up... :/ I wish my friend still worked at subaru.

Yeah... used to work at a commercial office furniture dealership... our cost would be anywhere from 50-80% off list pricing depending on what contract you ordered on. Marked up from there. 15% off list & the dealer is still making a hefty profit margin there.

Glad you guys like them.

I got them from the retrofit source, they are the Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III Kit (D2S) with upgraded ballasts (which is a direct OEM bolt on).

Anyone know the longest/widest 198 led bulb you can fit in the "eye brow" parking light housing?

Was it a hard install for that kit? They also have that quik-retrofit kit that they make for the impreza 2011, which apparently fits on the 2012 too.

My good friend is a head technician at a Subaru dealership. His price on parts is about the same prices you see on subaruonlineparts.com. The discount is not as good as you think!

I thought it would be these, which are T10s.

No not really, I had a buddy of mine to help me with it. The quik-retrofit kit does not fit, I know for a fact because they had suggested it would fit too, until I pointed out the 2012's headlights are completely different than those found in the 2011 Impreza.

On a separate note the festoon bulbs for the map and dome lights are 31 mm? I've ordered 2 each of the 12 SMD and 16 SMD ones.

I'm hoping they are the right ones and they fit.

I did get the right ones though, I think? Bright is better though. I have these in my hatch light http://www.ebay.ca/itm/280911408823?...84.m1439.l2649

So I think it can't be too bright.

The bulbs you purchased should fit. I put the same ones in my dome light. They are super bright.

Wondering the same thing since I had the footwell illumination kit in my 2011. Looking for a red "tactical" look in my 2012.

Also curious if anyone has installed the Whiteline HD 20mm rear sway bar on a 2012 impreza yet? If the 19mm STI bar will fit, the 20mm should be good without too much oversteer. They are on eBay for $150 including bushings.

Also curious what the 35w DDM kit in 5000k would look like a s a replacement in our projector housing. I've heard so many say it's not ideal, but if it's brighter without blinding people, what's the downside?

Just picked up my premium yesterday and already swapped my RA mudflaps from my 2011 and they look great. Tint, low beams and aftermarket fogs are next.

we don't have projector housings and that's the problem. It will be blinding to oncoming traffic.

Sorry, I meant reflector. So what bulbs are people using to upgrade the factory lighting without retrofitting reflectors? I read this entire thread, and there are a few references to LED, but those aren't as bright as halogen.

Nobody is retrofitting reflectors either. I'm not trying to sound mean but you sound way too confused to attempt this modification....if I were you I'd let it go and move on to something else.
