Why get HID highs? you install the high wire so your projectors act as hi/low? your HIDs will take some time to warm up so kinda useless for highbeams unless you drive with them all the time. I wouldnt do HID fogs either... so much heat in such a small housing with no ventilation... you're asking for the housing to burn/melt... my $0.02

Definitely more sealant since one of my lights was open on one part and got some condensation in it. Resealed it and its good, but I can tell when I look real close that stuff got in that can't be removed. Nonetheless, looks great.

Question though, I got 6k HID's but now the high beams look like crap and I messaged TRS about getting high beams and fog lights. Should I get the same kelvin (6k) or what? They said to get the H3C foglight kit, and the 9005 kit. $120 for each kit. Other thing is I no idea where to place the ballasts. And wiring might be odd. Havent seen anyone use their kits on the 2011 wrx, nor any walkthroughs. I'll keep researching unless anyone has some feedback.
Did you do the bixenon part of the retrofit install? If so, I would try to use halogen bulbs to colormatch, if it is the appearance that is bothering you. The quick flicker if flashing high beams is really bad on all bulbs, but particularly on HIDs.

As for fogs- do you have stock fog lights, or are you talking about adding foglights? HIDs in the factory reflector housings is not exactly yhe best idea out there.

And I like TRS and all, but i have had over 35,000 miles on $40 DDM kits without a single failure. More bang for the buck- just no baller status (if that matters to you...).

I have this kit installed... I no longer "flash to pass" unless my lights happen to be on, because as you say, it's not good for the ballasts. Its not a big deal IMO.

Someone asked if they tried putting yellow high beam bulbs in. I did this because I thought it'd look 'cooler' when the DRLs are on and also provide a different color at night with the xenons unleashed. It is much brighter when the highs are fully on compared to the stock high beams. I'm glad I did it. One caveat, during the day, with everything off, the yellow bulbs reflect off the shiny reflective headlight housing so from the outside it looks like the high beam portion of the headlight has a yellow tint to it. No biggie, looks a bit strange tho

Thank you I've been looking for a cheaper alternative than buying them from Subaru.

I had a weird idea... what would happen if you replaced the actual High with an LED bulb and spliced in the bi-xenon and used that as your main highs... and your highs as a show thing

Point taken. I never use the high beams, just though maybe people did it to see their opinion. I have the premium wrx 11 so it comes with fog lights already. I'd like to color match them with my HID's. Any suggestions?

you can get LED bulbs for the fogs just for the bling effect (but wont serve a purpose at all nor give you any extra visibility)

Only way to do this is to get HIDs for the fogs which ruins their effectiveness or get LEDs which again ruins their effectiveness. Only other option would be to go with a hyper white bulb or go with yellow fogs which look great with HIDs IMHO.

As mentioned, it is probably better to go for a different color (yellow) versus trying to match it. The only way to really match is to put in HIDs, which in a reflector housing are pretty much useless and do nothing in fog or bad weather.

I used Nokya yellow bulbs (about $20 a pair on eBay) in the past, and though they don't do much to help you see in the fog (particularly with HIDs in your headlights), they do increase your visibility to others.

Retroquick should be arriving before the weekend

As for highs.. depends on the use. I had a pair of hella's pencils to help me out on my 03, and they allowed me to notice deers far enough more than once. In the city, or on well lit roads, they are not really useful...

I'm hating life right now... finished one headlight tonight... taking off the stupid projector off the chrome reflectors is a major PITA!!! Also i got a memo that my screws are in mail... like that really helps me... so i bought a few at Lowes.

So far i compared the two and noticed that my retro is shooting pretty damn low... and the projector upper height setting is maxed out!

What screw did you need that did not come with the kit? Mine had everything included.

As for the aiming issue, are you certain that you have the retrofit projector properly seated against the reflector housing?

The 4 (x2) screws that bolts the projector to the housing and the 3 (x2) screws for the ballasts.

Well a quick retro turned into a 7 hour project after adjusting the stupid lights! They came out awesome... if I had to do it all over I wouldn't! I'd rather pay someone else to do a real s2000 retro

to those who cracked the housing. I did the retrofit without removing the housing or playing with the adjustment screws at all. I had to destructively remove the old projectors but the morimoto minis are small enough to get in disassembled without much difficulty.

You get to the point where the headlamp is split into 2 after the oven. THe OEM projector is screwed into the headlamp assembly - unscrew the front 4 screws so that the projector is loose (but stuck in between the bracket and the reflector), and then unscrew the 4 back screws so as to disconnect the projector lens from the projector back-end.

You're then left with the OEM projector, in 2 pieces, rattling inside the headlamp housing. the lens part can be removed, and the reflector part of the projector can come through the back of the headlamp IF you clip (break) the cornes. This allows to totally remove the OEM projector WITHOUT touching the alignment screws.

Bloody hell what a headache. Cutoff is perfect, hotspots are to the left of the zigzag, AND after 20 mins, I see little fumes inside the headlight casing. Please tell me it's normal
