I tried to get information on it since this year they are supposed to run somewhere else (for a cheaper price) and they gave 0% useful information. For example, when I asked about the prices, they answered: who cares about that! O.o Well... when you charge $300 per race... I do.... Seriously. I rather stick with rallycross. |

The big course needs to be graded.
It's rutted with standing water in all the usual places. It looks like the weather will be decent between now and race day. Jared: feeling confident that you'll run the big course? If so I'll talk to BSR today and see if they can clean it up a bit this week. http://www.weather.com/weather/tenda...Point+WV+25446 |

I have always had one question....
Why is the test and tune before the second event instead of before the first one?? I have never driven the RX7 on the dirt and was hoping the test and tune would help me. (which it will, of course. But Im sure many more people would need to test their cars before the actual first point event) |

Plus the school for the newbs would be much more helpful before their first event. Next year maybe? |

SCCA RallyCross has a FB page with only 100 "likes". If they hit 150 before 4:30 Central Time on Tuesday (3/13), they will give away a full year SCCA membership.
https://www.facebook.com/SCCARallyX And I really want to make it out to a rallycross. I just don't have a suitable car. My WRX is too autox-specific, and I'm not sure about bringing out a Camaro. |

Karen, tell Gabe you're gonna take his Maxima (on its street tires). You can beat on that thing, and he certainly owes you for racecar usage I'm gonna see him out tonight, so I'll suggest it to him That is, if you remember how to drive FWD or just bring the Camaro, or Pat's sentra. Here's how the RWD classes are looking at the moment: MR Class 44 Josh H. black 'n gray 1985 BMW 318i 74 Moxnix Red 1988 Mazda RX-7 174 John Fitez red 1988 mazda rx7 PR Class 6 Stephen Nichols Blue 1987 BMW 325E 26 Chris Helgesen Blue 1987 BMW 325E (same car) SR Class 2 Spencer Sheckells Silver 1991 BMW 318is 12 Scrowner Blue 1987 BMW 325E (same car) 19 James Spoth Blue 1987 BMW 325e (same car) Last edited by irish44j; 03-10-2012 at 06:06 PM. |

UPDATED LIST.
MR Class 44 Josh H. black 'n gray 1985 BMW 318i 74 Moxnix Red 1988 Mazda RX-7 174 John Fitez red 1988 mazda rx7 PR Class 6 Stephen Nichols Blue 1987 BMW 325E 26 Chris Helgesen Blue 1987 BMW 325E (same car) XX Roberto Moreton Charcoal/Red RX7 1XX Margarita Rocha Charcoal/Red RX7 SR Class 2 Spencer Sheckells Silver 1991 BMW 318is 12 Scrowner Blue 1987 BMW 325E (same car) 19 James Spoth Blue 1987 BMW 325e (same car) BTW... I was thinking... how about if the people from Prepared were to go up to Modified so we can have more competition? I believe the only stuff that both Modified cars have is the lack of carpet and other items. Am I correct? |

To the best of my knowledge I am missing.
Front carpet. Stereo/center console stuff Metal/foam front bumper beam Parts of front bumper cut for tow bar There may be other stuff I have not checked over the rules and car with fine toothed comb to make sure. I have the parts mostly still sitting on my parts car and might toss them on the car depending on how much time I have this week. The bmw is already a sr car playing up I doubt they want to move even further. |

I'm lacking carpet/headliner/center console, and back seats...But yeah aside from used rally tires, my car is using almost entirely "stock" parts from various e30s , but with much less power than any of the other e30s entered, and a bit less weight. I'm sure I have several other things that would not be legal for prepared, by the letter of the rules (like my 325i brake upgrade - which all the other e30s running have stock, but my stripper 318 didn't, lol). I replaced power windows with manual (though car could be bought with manual, obviously)...my power windows didn't work and I like working windows. And basically ripped out other worthless things like the electric gas cap actuators and stuff. Probably 100lbs off the car's stock weight, with 250k mile stock engine/diff/tranny. More example of me doing a terrible job of worrying about classing, since I'd rather just build a car they way I want to build it, and run whatever class it lands in! so yeah, I'm obviously fine with whatever you guys want to do. I think it would be more fun to run as a group so we can all get an accurate measurement of our cars against each other. I'm definitely not going to drop to prepared....I have too many little things that would prevent that and I don't want to feel like I'm cheating either way....but if you guys want to bump up that would be cool.. The guys with the Eta, though may want to run prepared since that car won the class last year...idk. Last edited by irish44j; 03-11-2012 at 01:10 AM. |

Ugh, I just realised this could create a huge run group issue, if anyone is trying to shared a car between PR and MR...
So SR and PR will need to be run separate since one of the e30s splits drivers in those classes. Then PR and MR would also need to run separate? |

Hmmm I guess it's not really an issue? Have I just not had enough coffee?
SR and MR in a group and PR in the other group? But that means you can't get a great comparison of times between PR and MR cars... |

Talked to Adam and John, who looked at the courses and equipment yesterday.
We'll either be running the gravel course if numbers stay where they are now or we'll have to run the big/main course if we get 30+ pre-registered. |

Personally when I have extra people running my car they don't care so much about what class or season points and would be happy running out of class for non points they mostly just want to run rallyx without having to use their own car(s). |

Just a random question - is the big/main course disliked? The way you said it there makes it sound like a bad thing to run it. I obviously haven't run before but the vids of the gravel course makes it look pretty short. Isn't a longer course usually preferable?

Big course needs more people to work it.
Thought maybe I'd be adding a couple drivers to Sunday's rallyx but now plans are to run in rallysprint. Hopefully no date conflicts for next rallyx/school. |

Gravel course can obtain sub 1 min runs, but we get more runs. More chances to hone lines. Each course has its ups and downs (pun intended). Most folks like the "main" course I think.

cool, just wondering.
Gravel course looks almost like an autocross run on the youtube vids. Except much louder with the clatter, lol. I think we'll end up over 30 anyhow - I know now 2 more people who are signing up in the next day or 2. |

Gravel is awesome for a half day, IMHO, but gets old if you run it all day. It also seems to favor horsepower in the AWD cars and is harder to equalize.
