Good old propaganda...

Yes, we've all seen the one head-on crash test. Meh, I bet that thing performs considerably better than my Mk1 VWs...

Cherry maybe?
Wasn't the guy who brought Subaru state-side trying to bring them here?

Actually, I think honda will bring their new line of cars here, and some of them are being slated to be built in china.

Chrysler.

(of course GM has been using Chinese-made transmissions on their small SUVs/crossovers for a few years now, which I believe is the largest single Chinese-made component so far in a USDM car)

Maybe my sarcasm is borked, but i very rarely go a day with out seeing people wear nikes or other sweat shop clothes. Everybody knows GAP and Old Navy, Nike, Reebok, and almost every other clothing brand uses child/slave labor.

Or maybe you just aren't using your brain fully. Unlike clothes, cars in the US must meet strict safety guidelines before they can be sold here. Until China starts building cars that meet those safety guidelines, then they can GTFO. Right now, China has no incentive to spend the extra money on research and then implementation of our safety standards because they simply don't give a **** about their people.

woah.. I know quite a few people that worked in product development at NIKE, Puma, and Reebok.. They do not use Slave, Child, or sweat shop labor, they aren't cushy office jobs tho.

Chinese makers will sell more cars in East Asia, India, South America etc., than they ever would in the US market. At this point, the US market isn't even a priority.

It hasn't just been the current administration that has sold us out.

lead paint covered toys.
flip flops that cause burns due to the materials they are made out of.

Samarra Brothers recalled Chinese-manufactured children’s two-piece overall sets because the coatings on the snaps in the overalls and shirt contain excessive amounts of lead, posing a serious risk of lead poisoning and adverse health effects to young children

Best Buy recalled about 10,000 Isignia DVD Player remotes after it was found that improper battery placement in the remote could result in overheating and present a burn hazard.

Kidsite jewelry sets, which were sold at Kmart stores across America, were recalled for containing high levels of lead.

Home Dectorators recalled about 900 Chinese-produced wall sconces, after finding that many were missing back plates, which exposes consumers to live wires and poses a risk of electrical shock to consumers changing the light bulb.

Tire importer Foreign Tire Sales, based in Union, N.J., recalled as many as 450,000 tires after it was reported that the treads on light-truck radials manufactured by Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co. in Hangzhou, China, were shoddily manufactured and could separate. Several traffic deaths have been blamed on such tires.

The FDA recently found that several low-priced toothpastes imported from China contained diethylene glycol, which poisons the liver and kidneys and depresses the central nervous system.

etc etc etc

You are still not getting it. None of that stuff has the kind of required safety standards that cars have in the US.
