Ej205 timing belt question
Hi, I'm just curious what kind of timing belt kit I would need for my 2003 wrx. It's had a jdm ej205 swapped into it from the previous owner. I have no way of knowing what year it's from, the label on the timing belt cover is not readable. Is the only difference between the 02/03 kit and the 04/05 the hydraulic tensioner? If so I could just get the kit for the 02/03 and just not use the hydraulic tensioner if the motor is from a newer model?
Thank for reading, any help would be awesome!

Just get a 02/03 complete kit.
Since you don't say how many expected miles are on the motor, then you should do everything to be safe: - timing belt - tensioner - pulleys - water pump Best to do it once and not keep taking things apart later doing it piece by piece thinking you will save yourself money |
