Default Comment made at the drivers meeting at Road America this weekend...

"Now remember everyone, there's a lot of high horsepower cars here - lots of Corvettes and the like, so if you see a Subaru coming up behind you, let the guy pass - otherwise, he'll just keep catching up to you".

And no, I didn't get passed by any Subies - then again, I ran in the Novice group since it was my first time there, but god, what an amazing time/track. Can't wait till next year.

Which car was yours man, I didn't see you? I was in the white wagon. Was the black STI that exploded from NASIOC?

I loved it as well...it really puts Autobahn/Blackhawk to shame if nothing else because of the kick-ass elevation changes and runoff areas (one of which I had to take advantage of).

Hey! ah, I remember seeing your car. I was #58, silver vette, I went with a guy who had a silver G35, near the top of the paddock.

I saw that STi, not sure what happened there, definitely didn't look good.

Heck yeah, I definitely agree on the track - so awesome.

My car felt amazing and at 176k miles I was surprised. The only issue was when I cooked the front brakes at the end of the first dry session (20 minutes of stops from ~125) and had to dive into the quicksand as they smoked for about 5 minutes. Surprising they were OK after I got pulled out and they cooled down but I missed my last chance at a dry run while I was checking them I drove it home 150 miles afterwards and other than forgetting to soften my coilovers (ouch) there was really no difference. I'd much rather drive a cheaper car and be able to maintain/prep/repair it for the track than drive an expensive showcar that I wouldn't be able to have fun with.

Oh and I'll throw out a thanks to Dylan/DS1 for all of his help getting my car fixed before I tracked it

Tracking some of these cars is what they were made for

I dunno about you, but doing 140+mph and not having to worry about a ticket = AWESOME.

I am very surprised with the Corvette. On the road it just feels like a very comfortable touring car, handling nothing too great - you get out on the track and its like goes through a transformation, just unbelievable. God I love having 400 bhp/tq

Do you remember the name of the guy who made this comment? Was it possibly a character in a black zo6?

Only a few evos and S2Ks, but yeah, good point!!

Triple, it was one of the guys from either RA or Mid West F-Body, don't know if he was a driver and it wasn't that guy Rudy who has a C5 Z06.

Oh, and that little spin out in the Carosel during the first session in the rain...!!

I was 2 cars behind you and only saw the "recovery", which seemed to be well done!

The black sti blew a hole in the top radiator hose, I believe.

Haha, yeah once I started sliding there was no saving it. Both feet in works like a charm

At least he didn't blow his motor - someone said they thought he spilled oil but it must have been coolant.
