Default NASA in N.M. Sandia Oct 20-21

NASA Rocky Mountain Region is holding a race/HPDE weekend at Sandia Raceway, just outside of Albuquerque N.M., Oct. 20-21. We need to get more interest and a sufficient number of entries or the weekend could get scrubbed. If you are interested please go to http://www.nasarockymountain.com/nas...ead.php?t=1225 and express your interest in participating.

My angle on this ? I recently purchased an '87 Porsche 924s to race spec944 in. I have been running my WRX wagon in the TT program and it's time to go racing !! This event will be my first opportunity to get the new car on track. I also need to let you, that don't already know, what great fun HPDE and the entire NASA driving experience is. Please help make this event fly. Thanks

I might be in to bring three cars (two drivers).. and may have room in the trailer for one more.

Whats the track like? I don't want to drive out there for a Firebird like track... Is the weather any cooler than phx?

Sandia:

full 1.7 or short 1.1 (left hand side in the picture is cut off at the oval)

The weather is no where near the surface of the sun heat like Phx...Its still a high desert though.

Here's a lap video http://www.swms.org/video.htm October weather in northern N.M. is glorious, with big temp spans between days and nights. Expect highs in the high 70's low 80's. It's a very challenging track, the video doesn't do the "elevation" changes, and banking justice. Hope you join us out there.

Hmm, very cool. Is there a cutoff date for when they will decide to cancel or not?

I'm not sure what the RM director will do there. My guess is that he'll wait until a couple of weeks before the event to decide.
