I know his thread is really old but did you ever find out why you got the wrong readings on your gauge? Bad sending unit or bad gauge in general?

I as well would like to hear about the conclusion to the OP. I was driving my Ver5 STI t'day and did a 4th gear pull when It backfired loud, and then when I came to a stop, my OP was alot lower than normal. Usually I idle @ 19-21psi, and now it has dropped to 12-14psi. I'm also running Rotella T6. I have a KillerB Pick-up & Baffle, and I swapped out my OP sender with a old used sender, but still the same reading.

I have the same readings, and sometimes it dips to 10. I am changing out my pickup tube this weekend and hope it make a difference!

Default Low Oil Pressure?

my friends rally car drops down to 6psi when idling after a stage and after the anti-lag kicks off.

it takes very little pressure to move oil at idle.

Ohhhh and can someone please explain why and the hell Subaru decided to set the default setting to 2.1 psi (aka your ****ed) Why couldnt they atleast set it to something that would give you a chance......say 8-10psi. Seems very STUPID

I found this part from Pegasus, part #LA4308, 20psi switch turns on your light with <20psi oil pressure, you need to replace the fitting in the block to accept 1/8" NPT threads, Pro Sport has those. Result if you see the light its not necessarily too late...
